My next argument for Julio will be "86-0. Nuff said." Marciano broke both sides of his mandible in the dressing room before the fight just to save his opponent the bother.
There are a few guys that believe that Marciano could do all that . Is there really that many though? I could be wrong I don't think it's a large segment.
No, no, no. Your a little wrong on that. Your a bit off. Marciano was beating Joe Louis in '51 and knocking out Ali in '68. That's not a limited window. That is longevity.
I will take your points in turn: Liston would have been one of the worst stylistic match ups for him in history. Obviously you don't know what would happen, but I think that most Marciano supporters acknowledge that Liston would be the probable victor. Again, this is a bad stylistic match up for Marciano, and I think that the vast majority of pro Marciano posters acknowledge this. He would have a good chance against Ali, because he was a stylistic nightmare for Ali. History has shown time and again, that swarmers over perform against classic boxers like Ali. Again, the stylistic advantage is with Marciano. Tyson has the stylistic advantage all thew way here, and i think that most Marciano supporters acknowledge it. Here I will back Marciano. I really don't think that Tua was very good. He is definitely the odd one out in this post!
You seem to pick people over him, who didn't make what they had work, against a fairly broad spectrum of opponents, in a fairly generous window of time!
Marciano retired before he got too old.I assume we pick prime versions of fighters for matchup .I don't think that was a prime Liston.
It’s funny how you continue to make ridiculous threads like this about Marciano. I’m the biggest Marciano fan on this board and I have never said any of this. I also hardly hear any Marciano fans on this board make these claims... I do however constantly hear Dempsey fans pick Dempsey over modern super heavyweight greats because he beat the hell out of some bambi legged retired steamboat captain for the heavyweight title while avoiding the one and only true great big man in his own era.
Well interesting thread. I guess I’ll wait another 2 months until BlackCloud makes another anti Marciano thread making false statement claims of his biggest fans picking him over modern super heavyweight greats.
Lmao you forgot the best one, marciano beats foreman because qawi landed some shots on george. By bummydavis lol
I pick people over him who operated in an era where the model of an undersized, slow, short, truncated power puncher had passed.
