    1. Did he got beat against best prime fighter of the time?

    2. Did he defeated any quality prime fighters of the time?

    3. Does he's name deserve to be in the history?

    4. Is he an overrated fighter and only liked by Poles?

I know he quit against Tyson for pretty much no reason, Got beat easily against Brewster and Lewis, showed lack of discipline twice vs Bowe where he could have won both of the bouts

No hate, just trying to expand my boxing knowledge :bbb

say what you want about him, but with regards to the Tyson fight he did the right thing. He had a broken cheek bone a herniated disk between the fourth and fifth cervical vertebrae. Quitting saved his life.

Golata was very talented, could have been a solid champion, would beat guys like Bowe, Ruiz, Byrd, ect...But lose to guys like Lewis and Tyson, but unfortunately he had serious mental issues, was diagnosed Bipolar, and no one in his camp or family would help him. he needed medical attention but never got it, wasted talent IMO...

Agreed that he was a wasted taelent. On an interview with Conan O'Brien, he obviously struck O'Brien as an idiot, and when O'Brien asked him about the low blows against Bowe, he just replied, "Well, he could get up." O'Brien just looked at the camera the way Johnny Carson used to when he had a blond bimbo actress on.

Golota has led a strange life.

    Golota Is Sentenced
The controversial heavyweight ANDREW GOLOTA received a two-year suspended prison sentence and a $7,000 fine in Warsaw yesterday for beating up a man in a May 1990 disco brawl. Golota fled Poland in 1990 and has lived in Chicago since 1991. He returned to face trial after two fights against RIDDICK BOWE last year. He was ahead on the judges' scorecards in both matches but was disqualified both times for low blows.
    January 10, 1997

The heavyweight Andrew Golota was free on bail after being charged with impersonating a police officer during a traffic stop. Golota, who quit in the second round of an October 2000 fight against Mike Tyson, was arrested by Illinois State Police after he showed an officer a badge and claimed he was a New Jersey police officer during a traffic stop, according to officials in Joliet, Ill. Will County (Ill.) prosecutors said that Golota, 34, received the honorary badge from the police department in Hudson County, N.J., for performing charity work.

PLUS: BOXING; Golota Injured In Fatal Crash
    BY TIMOTHY W. SMITH
The heavyweight Andrew Golota was slightly injured and a passenger was killed early yesterday morning when Golota lost control of his car on a snowy highway in Davenport, Iowa, crossed the center median and slammed into an oncoming tractor-trailer. Golota, 31, was traveling west on Interstate 80 when the accident occurred. He was treated and released from Genesis Hospital in Davenport. His passenger, Tadeusz Godlewski, 49, of Roselle, Ill., was pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the truck was not injured.

Golota didn't quit against Tyson for no reason, he had a skull fracture.

The way he mentally quit in both Bowe fights was remarkable - I don't think I've seen anything like it, before or since.

Bowe was the definition of a shot fighter in their second fight - he had absolutely no balance, his legs were like jelly and his timing was totally gone. All that kept him in the fight was his heart. Watching Golota snatch defeat from the jaws of victory (again) was amazing.

Also, did anyone notice the acne that was covering Golota's back?
