The democratic party supports government programs to assist those in need. Black Americans make up this population in disproportionate numbers, because of the instability imposed by the transition from slavery only 150 years ago, and the culmination of oppressive conditions imposed to them after, such as Red Lining (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redlining) Republicans don't support these programs, believing that people need to be intense self starters, despite what kind of conditions or background they come from. Underneath that, there are some obvious and not so obvious racial undertones in all the philosophical differences. It's been that way for years, it's getting better, but it's not going to disappear over night.
I suppose they take it in turns to be the more racist party because the Democrats have a long history of racism too. I've heard the Republican party has gone full ret.ard in recent years though, in all sorts of weird and wonderful ways. When you said "supporting those victimized by racism" I thought you meant siding with them against the violence perpetrated by racists, police etc.
I remember reading Ali was dyslexic, which would undoubtedly have contributed to academic difficulties. But there are a lot of comedians out there who would die to have the sense of timing and wit that Ali displayed during his public appearances. He may not have been a brilliant student, but he certainly was a brilliant communicator.
Mendoza describes the ANC under Nelson Mandela as a terrorist hate group, and believes them to have been so . He has never said anything derogatory about the government and its punitive apartheid policies that they were fighting. We are not talking about the sharpest knife in the drawer here. Liberal minded he is decidedly not!:-(
This is really nothing but I just noticed this. Ali didn't do a Muslim prayer before his rematch with Spinks. Maybe he did & my version isn't complete. After the instructions, he'd always go back to his corner & bow in prayer. This fight was the only time I didn't see him do that.
I cant see how Alis religious book is 'warlike', there's about 3,300 verses in the book and probably no more than 10 deal with 'fighting'.
I read about his trip to Ireland, when he got off the plan, he asked one of the reporters...."Where's all the (n word)?", the reporter replied...there isn't any here!
You obviously dont know then. Once upon a time, a prime SRR was approached by a kid to ask for his autograph, SRR told the kid to get lost. That kid was none other than Muhammad Ali. And from then on, he vowed never to refuse an autograph for anyone.
You know perfectly that the history was about what i said, you said the irrelevant nonsense about the autograph because you did not want to admit it lmao
This is too generous. As far as I can tell, Ali and the NOI cult didn't distinguish between which white people were devils and which weren't. Didn't they have an origin story in which white people were an inferior race invented in a cave by a mad scientist? More moronic and simple-minded than offensive though, imo. PS - and it depends what you mean by "condone" but I think you would find that the majority of white Americans were in favor of black civil rights by the 1960s.
