I think it was an interview in the Ring, circa 1962, where the young clay stated that he noted that most fighters have signature Ring habits, it might be a combination of Jab Jab Cross, or Jab Cross Hook, or whatever, or that they adopted a certain stance before launching...and this gave him an inkling of what was about to be launched his way...when allied to his sense of "Space Perception" he could scan someone and know what to anticipate and could and adopt / adapt ..and with his speed...all in Nano-seconds...
I agree. The second Quarry fight was one of Muhammad's best seventies performances. Some make excuses for Jerry,saying that he'd just seen his brother,Mike,being starched by Bob Foster,but it made no difference in my opinion.
