I am not saying the fight "has to happen," or that it even "needs to happen."

I would pay to watch it happen. I would just like to see how Floyd deals with Mayorga's rushes. Trinidad, De la Hoya, and even Spinks are all bigger than Mayweather. He will have to depend on his speed and skill more so than the aforementioned. I like watching Mayweather when he is forced to work, and this would be one of those times.

HBO wouldn't waste the money on a 24/7, but they could run one of their old 30 min. promos. I doubt this would normally even make PPV, but Floyd wants nothing but those.

If Floyd were 28, the fight might happen. Now that he's 30, and talking time off, don't bank on it.

A good promoter can make people believe --- "Dog ****" is "Ice Cream."
Mayorga is a Don King fighter.
    Its business.
    Don King makes money.
Floyd Mayweather kicks the **** out of Mayorga.
    Need I say more.

Mayorga's like if there's been a fire sale that sent civilization back to the dark ages. All the work and efforts to elevate boxing above cavemen warfare are nullified by this cave dweller. :shake

Yea he was beast at Welterweight years ago but he still would get beat by Floyd. The quick counter punching would eat Mayorga alive. Sure he wouldn't get Koed but there would be a Gatti like stoppage most likely.

A beast @ WW? Mayorga was good at welterweight, but he certainly didn't prove himself as a beast of some sort. That comes with beating all the other contenders or titleholders.
