so you feel the need to pick the lacy from his very best performance and pit him against the worset version of stevens ?

you know almost every single fight could have a different ending if said BS was possible

Reid wasn't Lacys best performance perse, it was just Lacy in his prime, in fact, Lacy got some American referee bias in that fight with Reid, Reid always gets ****ed by foreign refs

Stevens against Majewski vs Lacy against Scott Pemberton then

    Lacy wins, brutally

I actually picked Joe to out box him not on work rate based on that fight.

Also I based it on experience ,people were in aww as to what he did to Reid but Reid was far gone from his best . I just wasn't buying into the hype at the time ..

Fair play . But what do you think, Lacy at his best vs Stevens at his best?

fair enough, for me lacy never showed me that true winning spirit if needed toughing out a win when he was losing. i always remember him as a front runner, a bully that when the going gets tough he pretty much crumbles.
he will stand in there and take a beating like a zombie but he just never showed me anything more than a contender/journeyman level.

i know stevens can be labled a journeyman but i think he will win some future titles, i think he is much better at 160 too.. an much better than his record suggests

He's like Lacy-lite but not as good, and his best punch is his left hook, which is nowhere near as good as Jeffreys

Nah see I think that's the best thing about Jeff, he was a legit fighter and a legit genuine guy, not like the Broners or Mayweathers of this world, what you see is what you get.

As for him not toughing it out, come on mate:

The shoulder against Tsypko? the Calzaghe fight? Even the Sheika fight, one thing you can't accuse Lacy of is being protected or lacking a true fighters heart

plus, a big vulnerability to cuts and swellings

Jeff Lacys post fight interview after the Calzaghe fight is also probably the classiest interview I've ever seen

    LOL

Holy shlt, Calzaghe fans really have NOTHING else to talk about.

No, no one told you that Curtis Stevens would beat Jeff Lacy because no one knows or cares about Lacy except obsessive Calzaghe fans (such as yourself).

Things aren't looking good when you've retired and Jeff Lacy is the win you're best known for.

come on brenny, of course they would pick jeff, at that point when joe faced him, joe was estimated to be a national level guy based on his resume, so its logical tp pick an ibf champ over him.

its not jeffs fault that joe had done nothing for 9 years.

In Wales...around Calzaghe dinner table specifically

Kessler & Lacy are immortalized as ATG

Hopkins, Salem & Mitchell are also immortalized as ATG punchers

Omar Sheika & Mario Viet as ATG fighters who lost their souls vs Calzaghe

Sven Ottke is in the memory hole...34-0 , 21 IBF title defenses in the 7 years of Calzaghe WBO reign when the WBO was still a fringe title

It is kind of funny how someone can defend a paper title in his back yard for a decade, get two good wins, fight two very old big names, and be proclaimed an ATG by nationalistic morons who know no better.

    Sad actually :-(

It isn't the win he was best known for, but it is a Jeff Lacy thread, so naturally Calzaghe will be brought up

and btw, please don't project your BS onto me pal
