    my head is spinning here, what categorys are we using? national level, but calzaghe destroyed the undefeated british national champ in his own backyard long before this fight with jeff, so surely by then he had already passed national level

    Maybe Jeff Lacy just looked pretty devastating and Joe was thought to be ripe for the taking? Pavlik-Hopkins comes to mind

    No shlt it's a Jeff Lacy thread. You made up a laughable quote so you could bring up Lacy and ultimately hop on Calzaghe's nuts.

    No one cares about Lacy or Calzaghe outside the UK.

    I really believe Lacy wasn't as crap and overrated as people started to believe after the Slappy Joe fight. Although it's always fun to kick overrated Americans and Brits when they're down (also other countries but normally there's less hype there).

    It probably was the injury that killed off him main weapon (the left hook) wich destroyed his career. I wouldn't be surprised if some of his biggest scalps would actually beat the post injury version of Lacy.
