Somebody's 0 has gotta go! Saul Alvarez v Austin Trout Prediction Thread

I have bet vcash and real cash on Trout winning on points but i now believe that Gingerboy stops Trout at some stage, possibly a premature stoppage by the ref where it seems Trout is in trouble but he is ok.

 

a stoppage win, maybe. cause a straight win is under 3/1, and Trout by decision is only 3.5/1

 

I'm going with Trout.

A southpaw that fights down centre and is fine moving both ways and often circles to the orthodox fighters right hand. For me Alvarez left hand has the most variety and affect on his opponents.

His style in itself makes this a hard nights work then you look at the tools he has. Long arms, Fast hands and moves well in any direction and is slippery. Isn't a defensive wizard but he doesn't make many errors.

Think Canelo's approach doesn't blend to well with a guy who's fit to fight at a good pace and able to switch it up. Trout knows what he's about and think maybe only thing holding him back is eye catching punches but he's subtle and knows when to work and when not to.

Makes you're work messy and his work clear to see and controls the pace and if Canelo lets him settle into flow i don't see him changing things. Think Trout will offset Canelo and frustrate him.

Tends to punch with open fist, One of only issues with him. But think it will be a good fight with Canelo landing some big shots but Trout's well seasoned and mentally in right place. Think he sees it out and wins on points..

 

Im not betting on it but I think trout will win tonight.

 

I think Trout's movement will cause Canelo a lot of problems. If an opponent stands in front of Canelo, he'll look brilliant because he's a very good, precise combination puncher but if you offer him some movement, he can't find his rhythm. I think Trout will keep circling the ring to prevent Canelo from planting his feet and that should be the basis of his victory. On the other hand, I don't think Trout is the hardest fighter to hit and when he does get hit, he won't back down from a brawl, so if Canelo can have some success, he might be able to lure Trout into his sort of fight and pull off a stoppage. To cover myself even further lol, I don't think Canelo has the best chin, so I wouldn't be shocked if Trout himself managed to get a stoppage.

So, yeah, I think either fighter will stop the other or Trout will win on points. Actually, if it's close, Canelo might get a 'superstars' decision. I have a funny feeling I might be right with one of these picks If I had to put a bet on one outcome, it'd probably be Trout on points.

Whenever I can't pick a clear outcome of a fight, I know that it'll be a good one. Hopefully this proves to be worth staying up for as, on paper, it looks like one of the best fights to be made in boxing.
