Was listening to the Nuthouse asylum podcast last night and heard this. The guy who mad the claim, Ozzy Smith has had info that has been proven to be correct in the past. Anybody else heard anything?

Were rumours that Donaire is struggling to get to Bantam & Paul Butler was going to replace him

Butler v Burnett would be a good wee fight. Have to say it shocked me to see Donnaire agree to go down two weights. Can't be many fighters that have gone down two weights in their mid thirties. Cant be good for you.

    Oh ffs please no.

I was looking forward to placing a small wager on Donaire. Butler was so so poor against Rodriguez, I think Burnett beats him easily and don’t think Butler deserves the chance.

Donaire at least packs a punch.

I've liked both Paul and Ryan for a long time now and there's not many, all British affairs I'd prefer to see over this one.
Donaire probably thought that the money and opportunity was too good to turn down when he was first offered the wbss.
As you say moog, for someone at donaires age to now drop down 2 weight divs is a massive ask.
You'd have to be surprised if he made the weight without taking too much out of himself.
Recovery is a lot harder as well the older you are.

Exactly a terrific match up. One that might help the WBSS to secure a British t.v. partner. I think Donaire would have been a shell of his former self the and that's what Burnett and Booth thought when picking him.

I'm surprised they all haven't pulled out after seeing inoue demolish his last opponent within a minute.

Ozzy is the man for inside info.

I'm guessing it will be a UK fighter as that's probably how the guys in his gym know. I always had suspicions that Ryan Burnett would pull out this tournament either before the first fight, or after beating Donaire. We shall see.

I posted on the forum last week that it’s Donaire...unless this rumour is about yet another fighter pulling out on top of that.

I hope it's Donaire. I really like him, I think he's a class act. I don't want to see the shell of him in the ring 2 weight divisions below where he naturally should be at the very end of his career. I couldn't see that ending well.

I'd be completely distraught if it's Josh Taylor.

I know.... Should really just have that tournament in one night like a dan in judo. Line them up for Inoue. Should take approximately 8 mins.
