someone educate me on augustus

He's kinda a fan favorite, based on his unique, sometimes "suicidal" style, ( frequently dropping his hands, showboating etc ) Always did just enough to lose. Gave Floyd all he could handle for a good portion of their fight until Floyd gained control and I think got the stoppage, if Im not mistaken.

 

He got robbed more then marquez, so we the fans feel for him

 

he lost to mickey ward on his best night. that's the caliber fighter that he is.

watch his fight with Floyd Mayweather and then tell me he is crap. he was a world class fighter in his prime and got robbed a billion times because of his clowning in the ring. he beat the crap out of Mayweather on the inside and bloodied up his nose. he came into the mayweather fight with about 18 losses on his record and gave him HELL. to this day Roger and Floyd say the Augustus fight was the toughest they ever had.
watch Augustus' war with Micky Ward (fight of the year), he was robbed there too.

 

he clowns a lot and makes fun of the other fighter. Judges and referees don't seem to like that. And he didn't really seem to care that much. He just went in their having fun, thinking he was superior. He left a lot of close round possible to be robbed away from him, just by being to buzy with other things than punching the other guy in the face.

I agree that he was a world class fighter, his fight with Floyd was a great example for that. He did a lot better than great fighters like Corales, Marquez, Hernandez, Hatton and Mosley.

I wouldn't bother with his winning record. The guy entertains and that's really what boxing is about. He's been robbed, but he's also legitimately lost to a number of guys. He's great to watch, though. Check out the Oliveira fight. He's hysterically funny in it.

Ughhhh Augustus was nasty when he was in shape and focused.. he gave Floyd hell... Ward fight was close, it would have been nice to see him vs more top level opposition.. Many match makers stayted away from him cause he was such a ??? u never knew what fighter you were going to get..

The Fight Vs Olivera is just comedy.. I show that clip to people alll the time..
