A poster on this site wrote something that got me thinking.
He said there are a massive amount of Eastern Europeans fighting at 140-175, not just at HW. Yet somehow only their HW'S shine.......

So I did some research and it's true.

There are a lot of Eastern Europeans competing in the 140-154 divisions.
Yet when we look at the rankings of 140-154.
There are almost no Eastern European fighters in the top 10-15 :think

Ok so 'size freaks' will say, Eastern Euros are naturally bigger people (lmao), so they will do well in the bigger divisions.

So we take a look at 168-175ish
Now the 'bigger division's outside of Heavyweight have the same pattern.

168-175 is very very popular among Eastern Euro countries.
Yet if we look at the rankings of the SMW and LHW, there are only 3-4 Eastern Europeans in the top 20.

Now we take a look at Middleweight.

Another immensely popular Eastern European Bracket.

There are only 3-4 Eastern Europeans in the top 20 at MW as well..
    Hmmm...

So what's up people? I thought Eastern Europe was suppose to dominate all the fighters? Why just Heavyweight.

Could it be because the HW Era is total **** and they don't have a
Andre Ward, a Carl Froch, a Floyd Mayweather, a Sergio Martinez for this generation to go against the Vitalis and the
    'Povetkins (lmao)' ??

Who knows... but it is interesting.

That Adamek fellow seemed to do alright at LHW and Cruiser.

Oh ya, he got dominated by Chad Dawson who got dominated by Andre Ward.

But yes I agree, Adamek is the best Eastern Euro light heavy weight of the last decade or so.

Also impressive how you pretend the middleweight division doesn't exist.

There are 3 Eastern Europeans ranked in the top 20 at MW.

It's just as bad at MW for them as it is at WW, LHW, SMW, etc.....

The Eastern European boxing craze is relatively new for the pro ranks. Give them some time. They've not had the experience that the likes of US, Mexico and Puerto Rico have had over the years.

How did their HW'S reach the pinnacle so fast?

Like you've said, the HW division is in the worst state it's ever been. It's been left wide open for the Eastern European's to try their luck.

They heavyweight division is ****, and boxing hasn't been around eastern Europe for long, plus the rankings of divisions are normally compiled by Americans.

There is no east-european heavyweight pattern anymore, heavy weight classes are diversified regarding nationalities in amateur boxing.
Ukraine's best amateur is their lightweight.

The most athletic Eastern European 168-175 pounders are playing soccer or hockey, just like all the US heavyweights are playing football and basketball:lol:

Maybe the answer is that the Klitschkos are just that good that they are head above everyone else.
By your logic Mexicans dont have good fighters because even in the "weakest" division they dont have anyone good. Only Arreola..

if this is some indirect jab at the western heavyweight boxing scene, the simple fact is that in america particularly, HW is not a deep division, and hasn't been for a very long time at this point, well over a decade. when the wolf's away the sheep will play.
