of course he turned in a great performance. Hagler was shot so how could he not?

Leonard really aroused suspicions when he split the middleweights immediately to avoid making any defenses against YOUNG, capable, hungry, and left to pick on easier targets - Lalonde, guys who couldnt fight, lack of mobility, defense, agility, speed

Sugar couldnt be bothered with fighting when it came to defending against the young lions but the instant he sees easy prey like Lalonde, their is no waiting period and the contract is signed before u even hear about it

the moment u bring up a name like Micheal Nunn, a boxer with actual talent, fast, agile, hard to reach, and with offensive weapons difficult to defend against, Ray is like "let's change the subject" and the media will oblige him. after all, they wouldnt want him pressing his luck

so he goes with fat, slow, Duran

Ray really wasnt the bravest guy in the world

atg? more like all time hoax

as for Ali, I still cant fathom why u said he fought the perfect fight especially when his trainer kept yelling for him to get off the ropes and in light of Young's win over George

I didnt see Jimmy lie on the ropes waiting for George to punch himself out

where do people get this from?

Inever once got the impression George gassed out in Jamiaca. rd 1 when he's got Joe trapped in a corner, there is no letup and rd two the same when he has Joe on the ropes. same goes for Joe Roman & Norton

I think u put too much faith in boxing articles such a SI & the like. I have never trusted the media, whether the subject is sports, and especially politics. almost all of what u hear and read from the media is filled with corruption

u want to see the perfect fight watch Terry's domination of Leonard

his win over Curry wasnt so flawless and struggled a bit against the still dangerous Cobra

but his next major win over Taylor was considered the perfect fight

Watch just about any Hagler fight between 1977 to 1983 spanning his 7th defense. those are flawless performances

the exception is the first Antuofuermo fight. and for anyone saying that boxing Hagler is the right way to fight Hagler, u know they are corrupt liars becuz Vito held Marvin on the way UP, not on the way out the way Leonard did

they are just liars who will say anything and even try to include Leonard's amateur record to help Ray's professional record match up to Floyd Jr's

    F*cking embarassing

want to see more perfection watch Roy - J. Toney or Roy vs Griffin rematch

not to many perfect fighters out there becuz not that many are the complete package

You are on a roll tonight my man!! I would never go so far as to say Leonard wasnt a brave man!! It took guts to get in there with Duran in the first fight and then to go after Hagler with no warmup or never having fought at MW before is pretty damn brave if you ask me!!

As far as Ali goes the only way you can say he didnt fight the perfect fight is if it didnt work like a charm..which it did!! He had a plan against George and it worked like a charm thats what makes what Ali did nothing short of amazing! A hoax!? Thats a little rough isnt it!?

You are right about Foreman in Jamaica!! Back then if the fight didnt go beyond 5 or 6 rounds..then ya he wasnt spent! Yet.

well I would considering it took him 6 yrs of watching Marv steadily go downhill, then to comment he was counting on the slowness of Hagler becuz Hagler had lost alot of speed

    remember?

its amazing how quickly people like u forget until I remind them :yep

a pity he didnt do nearly as well with FOUR warmups and several fights in the same division as Norris before getting his cowardly ass whipped :smoke

as for fighting the perfect fight, that is seldon something we see unless it is carried out by the best which, Leonard clearly wasn't :D

fighting the perfect fight doesnt mean simply winning becuz then you'd have every fighter that ever fought, fighting the perfect fight :smoke

to fight the perfect fight means wnning all the rounds, and winning them in dominant fashion with seldon a blow having scored upon the winner, ala Norris-Ray Leonard

as for Foreman, if u hadnt seen him go past 2 how could assume he wasnt capable going past two? since none of us can predict the future, how would u know this ahead of time???

his career had only 40 fights. Hearns and Hagler both had 67 fights and much more of a career as did Duran, but Ray beat Benitez,Duran,Hearns and Hagler. Not many guys ever could have done that.

Actually I think you will find, much like the Rooster, i simply enjoy treating inferior vermin like you with the contempt you deserve.

You are an insignificant, know nothing, with absolutely no knowledge of any subject whatsoever yet due to your over inflated ego feel an overwhelming need to spout your worthless opinions.

I would not be in the least bit surprised to discover if what you believed to be your mother was in fact your elder sister, with the other moron Southpaw being involved along the way.

Great post mcvey ! Couple of solid characters those two right ! When you really take time to read some of their rants... You get that they both need to be placed in well padded rooms...Emotionally unstable...

Elton doesn't have anyone on this forum to treat as an "inferior", so you expressing some sort of correlation with that loser doesn't do much for your cause.

No Elton, it's a reference to one of the many usernames you use on the boxing boards around the net. And you are the very last person to be denouncing others for a lack of "originality" - you've been posting the same shite, the same recycled jibberish for close to a decade now, even in spite of being repeatedly slapped down and owned on the matter.

And don't confuse "superior breeding" with interbreeding, Elton - that sort of thing may have been acceptable in the 1950's in your part of the world, but it's generally taboo these days.

Which is why you rely on mythical quotes and sources, conjured up by your own twisted imagination and ignore factual quotes and sources that routinely contradict almost every viewpoint you put forth.

I did. Benitez made Hearns miss body punches. His defense was incredible just how he made Duran look foolish and made Hearns miss punches he never missed. I think Benitez was unlucky to meet up with Hearns and Leonard who both took his titles..

That was Tim Ryan quoting Ray Leonard himself, dumbass

see? I made a liar out of you again :D

you're not very good at this sort of thing are you?

btw, what takes u so long to reply? it's not like u have an actual job to get to
