What bull**** from Hearn, his retort was beyond pathetic. "Are you not confident your fighter will win?" Well Persoon beat the living **** out of Taylor and clearly won and ended up being robbed on the cards so it's a very valid point from Mr Cohen.

Respect to Cohen for standing up for his fighters. As he said he's been involved in women's boxing for almost as long if not longer than Hearn has been promoting boxing.

These kind of exploitative clauses are often legally unenforceable in employment law and contract law where the party seeking to exploit the smaller party has far more wealth. It's about time boxing sanctioning bodies do the same thing in boxing.

Mandatory rematch clauses for champions with mandatory purse splits. Otherwise there's a huge incentive for promoters to bribe judges.

I really, really want someone like Big Peter Fury or Big John Fury to stick it on Hearn at a press conference.

Because the fighter he represents needs the money, and Hearns knows this and is exploiting the situation.

That's irrelevant. It's still an exploitative contract. You could be offered a £100k a year contract by an employer which might contain very unfair clauses which you have zero bargaining power to negotiate. This is precisely why contract law exists.

Thought it was pathetic that he made those quips for some cheap laughs from the sycophants watching. Cohen making a very serious point for his fighter who is the one risking her health in the ring and Hearn quipping for some cheap laughs. Everything I hate about him in one two minute clip. Watching the full press conference now and Taylor's opponent speaks very well, hope she does well out of the sport and wins.

Cant understand this really. Why sign the deal, clearly he knows Taylor is the A side regardless of any belt. Taylor is only after the belt and doesnt want to waste another fight when she wins. Nothing to see here for me

Time to stick up for your fighter is during the negotiation process prior to signing the deal. It may also not be a good idea to tell the world your fighter is crying at the thought of boxing without a rematch clause.
