someone help explain the WBA situation on John & Gamboa

    Chris John has been WBA SUPER World Featherweight champion for quite some time now.

    Gamboa recently unified his WBA World Title with the vacant IBF crown in his last fight, so going by WBA rules Gamboa is now upgraded to WBA SUPER Champ as well.

    So where does that leave John? Regular Champion?

    Jesus christ its becoming harder to keep up with all this nonsense

    Im not sure but i have heard whispers of John retiring so hopefully that will clear things up

    The WBA actually say that John is Super Champion , Gamboa is Unified Champion (whatever the hell that is) and Barros is regular champion. Yet most sources say Gamboa is a Super champion. I think that John was made champion in recess due to his inactivity and so Gamboa could unify, then John regained his title when he became active again. So it seems they're both Super champions. I don't really care tbh.
