Didn't Lewis take step-aside money at some stage to not fight Tyson? When did that happen?

It was damages in lieu of a purse.

Lewis became mando for Bruno's WBC title, but King only gave Bruno the shot at McCall if he made Tyson his first defence.

Obviously Sillyman pandered to King and let the fight go ahead.... but Lewis was awarded the $$$ because the WBC were making up their own rules.

The courts then forced Tyson to defend against Lewis... so he went the WBA route instead and an injunction was passed against the WBC preventing them from putting their title on the line in the Seldon fight.

everyone called lenox boring and overrated and "good in a weak era" during his reign. in reality he just beatdown/outboxed everyone put in front (with the possible exception of vitali)

    sound familiar?

I never heard the "good in a weak"
Lewis' era was widely regarded as being a great era. There were some "boring" comments though.

    heard it all the time.

"if tyson and holyfield were in the prime bla bla lennox wouldnt be nething"

    "super weak chin"

lennox was quite hated by a lot of boxing fans. somehow i hate him more now coz of all the turncoats that now say he was the greatest

Lewis was lazy a lot of the time, arms low mouth open but when he stepped it up there are few HW's who were better.
The fights already mentioned by other posters are the ones to check :good

Are you out of your ****ing mind? What has personality or intelligence got to do with how he performs in the ring? Hes a stonewall ATG and most definately a top ten heavyweight.

even his boring fights, which there were many, belie incredible skills and subtlies. i've become a fan over time but for the fights which show lewis as his most revealing:

    1)morrison
    2)mercer
    3)rahman 2
    4)ruddock
    5)klitschko
    6)briggs
