Both of these guys have valid points. Both I think want the fight- but both also have valid concerns and they want assurances . I see the both in these guys- and think that Manny is innocent- and that Floyd is concerned he is at a disadvantage ( I think his ego needs to believe it is chemical ).

I think floyd sincerely wants the fight- but really does think Manny may be using something to have an edge- and probably cant understand why Manny wouldnt jump at the chance to prove himself innocent. In his mind- Mannys reluctance is only strengthening his resolve that something is suspicious.
Manny feels as though hes been insulted and dosent want to meet halfway- as he feels the allegations are unfair- and that he has been more than accomodating in giving blood at all.
Both are right- thats the thing with this - there is no black and white- no right and wrong- its a delicate situation. Judging by the way this has divided ESB - i guess most people feel one way or the other- which reflects the fighters- there hasnt been a common ground here- where 400 people discuss the fight 24/7.
To know the issue is to know the fighters. Boxers are alot more sensitive than we may fully understand. For two of the toughest guys on the planet they have been more than touchy.

floyd is a proud fighter- who has an air of invincibility and views himself this way. here comes this boxer with amazing physical attributes accomplishing things even he has not in the ring of late- he wants to see if its true. im sure he feels he can beat him- but the fact he questions mannys legitimacy in itself attests to the fact he feels Mannys performances are beyond normal. He needs his ego appeased. He needs to feel that
    A. Manny is human and he must be cheating. or at least
    B. that on fight night- he wont be able to use anything.
Even if Manny isnt using- that isnt the issue- Floyd needs to feel Manny is mortal on this night- for psychological reasons.
This won't go away- and needs to be coddled on this if the fight is to be made.

in Manny's case- well - he is a God in his nation. His ego is stupendously large. He may be humble to us - but hey - how much do we really know about a man that has 20 fully grown men fight to sleep on the ground beside him every night and serve at his beck and call. He has governors and presidents beg him for his time- and is used to kingly treatment. all of a sudden this demand to give his blood insults his kingly pride- he has already given concessions- why - Manny thinks: "Why should i give more- I am Manny after all. I am a clean champion- I have always been- Mohammed comes to the Mountain - not the other way around- and I am the Mountain."

Here we have a rock and a hard place. This fight will not get made unless one of these fighters simply concedes and acts the bigger man in order to ge the fight made. a compromise wont work- because a compromise would compromise both of their fears that i ve spoken about you see. a compromise wont relieve floyd of his suspicion that manny might sneak something in- and a compromise would give manny a feeling of concession, as though he relented to something he didnt need to. it would be like putting ur arms up and saying im innocent- when you havent been charged. this is a prideful edge which i feel he also needs.

so who steps up? or rather - who steps aside. I dont presume to know these men. They are just media creations to me. But if they behave as they have- and they are predictable- the both of them - it seems there is only one way this fight will get made.

Manny needs to accept an earlier blood test. It will hurt his pride- and he dosent need to - but now the time has come- and he does. But the fact of the matter is- We know - He Knows- Floyd Knows- we all know- that Floyd will not enter the ring if without this edge he needs. thats just the makeup of these two men. Manny however- might- his stubborn pride is a more recent event of his kingly status- whereas Floyd's was and is as a part of him as the shoulder roll. Manny has been squeezed in negotioations in the past and has still fought- maybe he wont take it now- but he has proven to be both gullible, naive- but also able to make uncomfortable decisions. Look at how he accepted cash from oscar AND a contract from Top Rank. It showed his pride can be played too- his ego finessed. But also, that at the end of the day- that he is capable of making a mature choice.

Therefore I feel this fight - the fight we all want- the fight boxing needs- can only be made if Manny steps up - and is the bigger man. It dosent mean that Floyd is right mind you- in fact it is a solution based on the presumption that he is the more mature of both men- the one able to be compromising and accomodating. Give a little so we can all- including himself most of all, get alot.

thanks for hearing out my rant. Im just so tired of this all- as we all are. We have here- probably boxings most die hard fans around the world- and to see this- well its just gutting. I want the fight as much as anybody- sure I have a favourite- but really - i just want to see a fight- the best fight.

It would have to be Floyd.....he only fights little guys......... Just kidding.
Even if he did try, Manny would make him do it at a catch weight.....
