Whilst it may not put of the hardcore fan it could certainly be the final nail in the coffin to the average fan.

I would be severely disappointed if this fight doesn't come of but i will still follow boxing, however i can understand why some would give it up.

What other sport do you know were the best quite often don't face of against the best, multiple "world champions" in one division with god awful ranking systems and worst of all, when two people face of, if it goes to the score cards then there is a decent chance that the guy that did win ends up losing.

I love boxing but it is a real shitty business at times and i can understand anyone turning away from it.

Man **** both these guys. I wouldn't walk away from boxing for either of these premadonas. I could careless and I get tired of only reading about PPV numbers and purse splits and testing dates and if one guy doesn't like the other guys' stipulations he's automatically scared or doesn't want the fight. Floyd, Pac, **** or get off the can.

These are just quotes which are to turn people on his side. I have no idea what's really going on behind the scenes and neither do you unless you have connections.

I don't believe the TS is a proper boxing fan anyway.

I mean he once claimed he was a Paulie fan, but turns his back on him as soon as Paulie gives his professional opinion on something.

That's not what i call a proper fan.

You don't turn your back on boxing just say "**** these two", I'm done with all the BS. Someone call me when the fight is actually signed.!

There's plenty of good boxing coming up!

What? How is this different from last time?

This is exactly what tanked the last damned negotiations.

    You are blind.

Mayweather-Pacquiao is the biggest fight that can be made today, but it doesn't define boxing. If someone gives up on boxing over that then no, they are not a true fan. Boxing was around WAY before either Pacquiao or Mayweather, and I believe it will be around long after them.

I would tell them not to boycott boxing (as there will always be other big fights ahead) but its cool if they boycott all future Mayweather/Pac fights against anyone who is not in there class or who they have a advantage against

Only those who turned to boxing for a single fighter would turn their back on it based on a single event. Great fight if it gets made, couldn't give a **** if it doesn't, there are plenty of (more exciting) match-ups out there with a lot less drama.

    I wouldn't care.

Boxing would be in a better state if these two weren't expected to fight each other right now.

Floyd would actually improve his legacy by fighting Williams and Martinez.

Emmanuel would be doing his junk at 140 or be retired to go play glorified filipino social worker.

No one would be stuck on a guy who gets in the ring to beat up people for a living, but is afraid to draw blood.

We wouldn't have to see how stupid some boxing fans are like expecting someone to ask for less when they're worth more. Check PPV numbers.

There be no talk about how some guy's legacy is set in stone already, but his fans are so desperate for him to fight someone else they desperately and stupidly defy all business logic.

**** that girly **** about how boxing NEEDS this fight to happen. Prize fighting waits for no man.

Other great boxers and fights would be getting talked about instead. How does some bull**** like Pacquiao vs The Great Ghana Joshua Clottey get 700,000 PPV sales, but Williams-Martinez gets swept under the rug?

Oh please. I started watching boxing in 1986. The significance behind that? I was born in 1980! I've been watching boxing, reading boxing books, and talking about boxing since I was six years old, so don't tell be I'm no boxing fan...and Paulie's opinion wasn't "professional" it was flamboyant and attention-seeking, which is why I turned my back on HIM.

Boxing has already pissed me off over and over throughout the years, and Pac-PBF not happening behind some bull**** could possibly be the final nail in the coffin for me...yes. I believe that this matchup is so historically significant and important to the sport of boxing, that it falling apart AGAIN because of egos will disgust me to the point where I'll either go from a hardcore fan to a casual one, or walk away altogether...
