Someone want to explain to me just how Kostya Tszyu would've beaten DLH?

    :huh

Because I'm stumped as to how anyone other than a Kostya lover or DLH hater could think so..

As great as KT was he had quite a few weaknesses.. and they were weaknesses all of which DLH could've exploited. DLH was physically bigger, stronger, and a lot faster than Tszyu.. and two things which KT had trouble with was size and speed. Now there's no way KT would've outpointed DLH so the only thing that leaves people with is the idea that DLH might get caught with a good right hand.. but how effective will it be against a P4P iron chin like DLH's? Not very effective at all IMO..

DLH would be staying on the outside using decent footwork and most likely be connecting at a minimum of 3 to 1 for most of the fight, and would probably stop Tszyu on accumalation by the mid rounds. :good

I think DLH would beat him pretty good, also. I'm not a nuthugger or hater of either fighter, either.

If De La Hoya would have won so easily then why did they never fight? This fight would have made A TON of money.

So because DLH ducked him we should just assume that Tszyu would've won a fight between the two?

It was on its way to be made but KT got knocked out by Phillips and DLH moved up shortly later.

I would pick DLH by wide UD.

DLH would have been intimidated by duck tail.

I guess nobody gets away from the str8 right hand...It would of been a good scrap but ODH jab would of set up a good left hook. ODH could take Kostas punch. ODH by KO at some point mid-late.

Kosta would have beaten him with a long staff.

I don't remember there being much talk of them ever potentially meeting.

Remember, KT was just coming into his own at 140 in 1997, as ODLH was firmly at 147. KT had the pressure style to trouble ODLH, but he didn't have the maturity until after the Phillips loss to pull off a victory on such a big stage. By that time ODLH was long gone.

I was/am a huge KT fan, and always thought it was kind of a shame that he never got to fight the big names of that era to prove himself. Judah and Mitchell will be the wins he'll be measured with.

Anyone else remember back in the early 90s pre-internet days when KT was coming up? There was almost this underground buzz here in the states about this killer from the Soviet Union fighting down under, but noone had really seen him.

I remember his fight with Roger Mayweather being on ABC. Ah, the dark ages of the 90's.

I personally believe De La Hoya would have gotten a UD over Kostya.

At lower weights Oscar hadn't really started boxing and mocing yet. He would trade with his opponents a lot. That being said he is bigger, faster, stronger, hit harder (yeah I said it) and had the chin to take anything Kostya would hit him with. I see him coming straight forward and beating Kostya up for a KO somewhere around the 8th
