Someone want to explain to me just how Kostya Tszyu would've beaten DLH?

You think so? Sharamba is very talented and slick but he's way too unorthodox to be very effective against guys that are on KT's level and he's proven to come up short when he steps up to the higher plateau of the sport. I did have a lot of faith in his abilities in his hay day before he got beaten by KT....But he did have a good showing until he hurt his knee in their original meeting.

KT is always dangerous b/c of that power but DLH didn't duck him....I wouldn't even say avoided b/c he faught EVERYONE!! KT is anther fighter who was a challenge that didn't make the cut like Vernon Forrest and a few others. It's not bc DLH "Avoided them" it's b/c he just didn't have enought time or they didn't make enough $ense to make the fight happen. KT wouldn't have been a cake walk but fairly easy to figure out and decision down the stretch. The skill level between KT and DLH are vast even though KT preforms on the same level or did preform on the same level as DLH. It's just stylistically it would be more of a puzzle for KT than it would be for DLH.

To be honest that peroid for DLH between 97 and 98 wasn't a great patch for high level comp but every elite fighter has a year where its not as stiff in terms of challenges! Its not like KT was fighting the Creme de la creme either....Leonardo Mas, Ismael Chavez, Calvin Grove...Philips and Rueales are decent fighters but c'mon man....DLH has faught FAR more harder fighters than KT has faught....****...I can't name anther fighter in this era who has faught more HIGHLY competitive fights than DLH has....anyone can pull names from an ELITE fighter with longevity and say they faught "Too many bums, or easy fights or has taken the easy road". But their records and whom they faught do not lie.

I can't argue about DLH's overall resume, i think he probably has the best resume of any Boxer in History. He has fought everyone. I just think he thought Tszyu to much of a risk at that time. Remember also that almost 50 % of all Tszyu's fights were against World Champions ! Either way it's a shame the fight never happened and we the fans missed out on a great fight.

Ask Felix Sturm why that's the case.

Why what's the case? Felix Sturm is no A-level fighter but he's better than Hatton or Phillips. And as long as we're going to give leeway to KT for being past his best in the Hatton fight the same should be given to DLH for not only being past his best against Sturm but also being out of his weight range.

No way is Sturm better than Hatton! Hatton just lost to the best PFP boxer in the world and prior to that was unbeaten in 9 years! Sturm is a bad example, Oscar is light years better than Sturm, just not at 160lbs, as for Phillips beating Tszyu, who can rememvber the guys that beat Hagler when he was on the rise or Duran's shock loss to De Jesus in 72.
Who was Antonio Becerra? The only man to beat the great Salvador Sanchez!
Was Rafael Herrera a better fighter than Ruben Olivares? Most people would say no but he won twice against the great Mexican champion. The point is the Phillips loss meant nothing as Tszyu went onto unify the division and did not lose again for 7 years. Age caught up with Tszyu, it was Oscar's choice to go up to 160lb.

Sturm isn't even that great himself and he's STILL a lot better than ****face Hatton.

Bias? Dude, Hatton is practically John Ruiz at his weight range.

While I agree that Hatton is an ignorant wrestler with no real boxing ability..Sturm is an A level fighter...Don't be another ignorant american unable to look outside a small box..It's long been understood that DLHs victory over Sturm was a robbery...Dare to have a mind of your own and not buy into hype..It goes a long way in terms of your credibility:good

Don't put words into peoples' mouths.. it goes a long way in terms of your credibility. :hey

I'd favor DLH in this matchup, but a lot of people are severly underrating Zoo and overrating Oscar De La Hoya.

Stop the madness already mate...Even though I belive Sturm is the weakest of the MW champions..He is a very slick boxer with a decent chin..being KOd by Castillejo isnt the worst thing to ever happen..I discredit him for not fighting his countryman Abraham...why this hasnt happened by now I'm sure only a German can tell me...I guess right now I would rate him a B/B+..but he looked very sharp against DLH and shouldve won...Imagine how much different he would be viewed if he wouldve gotten the descision he deserved:think

Sturm doesn't want to get KTFO, obviously.
