this kid cant be the future of boxing, no hate involed but paulie was able to tag him alot double jabs body shots and all it was a close fight but did he do enough to take the belt from the champ? i dont think so

His power didnt look like it was there moving up two weight classes, dude is tastless and super corny as well hes going to get dropped at 140-147

they should match him with marquez. mayweather was able to beat jmm when he made him fight 3 weight classes too high - lets see if a younger, fresher mayweather can beat him when the weights are evenly matched :deal

If his management would let him in with Lucas Matthysse then it would be him who murdered Broner, but they won't. A crying shame.

Not sure it will happen soon, that GB guy Eric Gomez won't match Garcia vs Mathysse, my guess is he's gonna take it slow with Broner, and put him in with boxers he knows he'll be the favorite against.

They're gonna manage his career as they have done for Canelo and minimize the risks, using every trick they can, from specific canvas and ring size to open scores etc

Broner appears to be very athletic and rock hard tough with attitude. He will always have trouble with a slick boxer but unless nailed and hurt,Broner will keep on coming.
He is exciting to watch though, and a wade in fighter like Mathyssee or Maidana will tell all you need to know whether Broner can take a shot.
I was at the fight at Barclays and a few random thoughts :
Easy to get to.Took the D train from mid town and it drops you right around the corner from the subway.I sat ringside and it was great sight lines(only 5 rows deep) BUT due to the overhead screen above the ring you can't see the replays due to the lighting structures, which was a **** off.
Empties nicely and a very clean facility BUT the bar area was a bit of a hassle to get to,although during the Banks fight I didn't mind.
In general a very good fight venue, but there is nothing like MSG for crowd involvement.I much prefer the Gardens for the fights.
    Cheers!:good

I forgot to mention the fighters I saw sitting at the fight in one way or the other
    Zab Judah
    B-Hop
    Danny Garcia
    Floyd Mayweather
    Phil LoGreco
    Wlad Klitschko
Thats all I can remember but I am sure there are others who were there that I cannot recall.Gets a little fuzzy after a few beers.

Agreed! Everytime Malignaggi has stepped up in class he has lost clearly. I didn't expect Broner to knock Paulie out because his chin is good but I thought he would win an easy decision. Now it was close but fair.

And to those who argue it was because of the jump in weightclasses I totally ignore. 12 lbs is nothing for a good fighter and he probably was heavier or as heavy as Paulie on fightnight anyway.

my dudr, there is a weightclass every 7 pounds for a reason! 2 pounds make a difference let alone 12 dont matter if he was heavier on fight night then paulie, his power didnt move up with him he will need time to grow into that weight

I think it's fair to say for now that Broner is good, but not elite. After all, Cotto, Hatton and Khan all beat a younger and fresher Malignaggi more convincingly than he did.

However, i do see real talent and potential in the kid. I think he needs to tone down the antics a little, but if he keeps working hard, gets the right fights and keeps developing, he might, he MIGHT just grow into a bonafide p4p top-10 guy. I know there are some tards out there who already rank him up there, but c'mon, if a competitive points win over Paulie is the best you got so far, you're not elite yet. For Chrissakes, the kid just went 12 for the 1st time!

Anyway, i think a Maidana fight would be a great next step and a real chance for the kid to prove something.

I don´t think it should have been that much of a difference. Certainly not against Paulie who is a small welterweight.
But as I said. I didn´t expect a knockout, just a more dominant performance.
