He isn't a big puncher. He hit Kovalev flush with an overhand right on the temple. If Kovalev's defense were any good he would've never got hit flush like that.
Kovalev clearly rocked Alvarez. He was hurt on multiple occasions. Alvarez also KTFO Bute. Alvarez looks like he always has. He never was skinny.
In the postfight, Alvarez clearly stated him and his trainer had worked on waiting the second part of the fight to turn the juice on. You don't engage a puncher in the opening rds, you ride the storm then take over in the second part. Kova had no legs to keep away anymore, didn't know how to box, didn't know how to wait for the full count, didn't know how to hold, which he didn't even attempt. He could have most probably rode the storm and heard the bell had he tried.
Holt's KO ratio was crap and had barely any KOs in the second half of his career, one I believe was Diaz who punched back when the ref stopped it and Torres who he only KO'd because he was left defenseless tangled up in the ropes from a headbutt. Everyone calls him a massive puncher.
big punchers punch themselves out for a knock out. kovalev is no different he got tired against chelimba, ward, and now alvarez. People are taking note of the blueprint.
well ward got rocked kovalev and ward isnt a big puncher. and by looking at kovalev body shape i can tell he didnt put in the work anyways. kovalev lost the hunger. hes been in some tough battles . hes really not up for that anymore. or at least last fight he wasnt . everyone has bad nights it could of just been a bad night but i think kovalev lost the urge .
Yes he was, shots were registering, jabs looked like they were taking his head off, he had no strength left
