The "One better again" argument doesn't really exist when you consider the fact that one fought at ATG and the other fought a guy who's 3rd best win is probably Dave Allen......and he was drugged up for that fight too.
If Wilder had that sort of interconnected conspirators why the **** is Hearn making videos about how no one knows his name? Right on the surface of things it should sound damn near ******ed. This is what a media hype looks like when the nation that owns global media conspires to hype a man? Like **** it is. Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor are media hype jobs whose careers were protected. Billions in rev, and how did it happen? They got Jackie Chan to choreograph the fights? Nah, they just used their media presence init? Why? Cheaper, safer, more dependable than a ****in' fix init? The cost to pay-out for what you and so many other purpose is really stupid.
Then you have the way that the Ortiz corner behaved. They seemed extremely unemotional by the whole thing after Wilder was supposedly almost floored. The only thing that Ortiz was told in a hushed very casual tone of voice was this: "Remember! This is your opportunity!" That's it! That is not a normal reaction from a corner that sees an opportunity to gain a championship. Too quiet. Too bored. Then Ortiz comes out and what does he do? Attack furiously to finish Wilder off? No siree Bob. He begins to follow him around and tapping him with light jabs. A man on a mission to win comes out like a freight train and throws everything he has. Especially an experienced boxer like Ortiz.
OR he put everything into trying to knock Wilder out in round 7 and was spent while Wilder recovered. Was pretty obvious Ortiz was all out of gas at the end of the 8th while you could see Wilder slowly getting his legs back. I'd say that's what you would expect to happen when the older fighter doesn't take him out when he has the chance. I don't believe either guy is good enough of an actor to script a fight. The ref giving Wilder more time to recover was a joke and the inevitable screwcards would have been a different story, however.
The only fishy thing that happened last night was the time they allowed to Wilder to make sure he recovered at the beginning of the next round where he was clearly still confused. For the rest, if it would have been fixed, no way Wilder would have taken that kind of barrage he took before the bell rang. I’m still surprised that Wilder survived that barrage. Kudos to him!
If they'd seen the BS scorecards whatever tank Ortiz had left at the start of the 8th should have been emptied on Wilder. He came out on wobbly legs but was mostly recovered after just throwing a few jabs in the 8th and taking no more damage.
The scorecards were fishy that's about all but that is dangerous and should not be overlooked just because the fight ended early.
Holy **** you are not in touch with reality on this one fella. Unless we all in the matrix and it just messed up and you were the only one to notice?? Are you Neo??
I'm blaming Ortiz for coming into so and so shape; he had a golden opportunity and let it slip because his poor preparation habit. As if Wlad's recent example wasn't into everybody's memory.
This. He came in a bit too heavy. 238 or 239 would've been a better weight. Ortiz is by far the most skilled in the division, but in the Malik Scott and David Allen fights his stamina didn't look very good, so I knew he would gas against Wilder, but just didn't know when.
Well I wasnt sold on ortiz he has a bum resume worse than wilders. How good was ortiz would a chisora have beaten him would a dyllian whyte have beaten him ? we just don't know and the jury is still out on wilder. He looked out on his feet at times rubber legged cant help but see him going to sleep vs an AJ a whyte a fury.
