Lateral movement combined with reach spells all kinds of problems for Wladimir. I didn't think Fury would be able to move so well the entire fight. I don't think Wladimir is shot, but he is severely declined. Offensively, he has become ordinary.
Wlad was expecting Fury to come at him, but it never happened. Instead, you had Wlad chasing Fury for long periods of each rd while Fury feigned and potshotted then tied up and landed the majority of his shots in the clinch. Outlanding Wlad 7 punches to 5 most of the fight is not some kind of schooling as ppl suggest. You just had a guy who fought a smart technical fight, staying out of danger and not allowing himself to get dragged into a slug out. Smart fight by Fury, even smarter than that of Wilder when he beat Stiverne. Though, to his credit, Wilder at least fought off the front foot just as oft as off the back. :think
I can't see Wlad at his stage in his boxing life to completely change his style, which is what he'd have to do to defeat Fury. * He's a head hunter-Fury has very good head movement. * He never goes to the body-his clinches are useless. Fury's middle section is flabby...if I were training Wlad I'd force his to forget going to the head and go to Fury's body. First of all it would hurt him, second of all it would slow him down. THEN go for the head. But at 40 yrs old, money in the bank, a new child, a hot wife (in rehab)....does he have the motivation to change?
It wasn't always like this. Manny turned him into this version to protect his psyche. Now that he is fully mature and his chin seems to hold up to whatever he gets hit with, is the time to update the system.
Your threads/posts are always stupid. Do what you will with this post, I will not be reading your reply :happy
