I was thinking the same thing.

As for the thread itself, if you take a look at Floyd's career...

    Lazy Jab = Timed Counter.

If Floyd faces a lazy jab, he comes right over top of it. Any and all flaws Manny has, he and Roach will need to get them under wraps come fight night.

Exactly - watch every Floyd fight. Lazy orthodox jab gets a lead right, every lazy southpaw jab gets a lead left hook. Manny has to be successful at what other fighters haven't been - trap Floyd and actually land meaningful punches and don't head hunt. Floyd will lte you back him up because he's still very good defensively against the ropes. Roach has to develop a game plan where Manny uses intelligent aggression when he can trap Mayweather.

This is the thing, Pac is so fast people can't even see his bad habits. That's why he is able to get away with them.

But Mayweather is the fastest guy Pac has fought as well, and if anyone is gonna "see Pac's bad habits" it'll be Floyd.

The flip side is capitalizing on those openings means that Floyd will have to commit to punching. And when you commit, is when you are open to getting hit especially when you try to hit a guy that has shown he is not only good at taking hits, but willing to endure damage to deal it back. He'll have to pay to play more or less.

Definitely, every time you throw a punch you take a risk and leave an opening, and any kind of risk you take against Pacquiao is a big one. That's why i love this match-up so much; even though i favor Floyd to win, and i'm rooting for him, i don't think he's ever been in quite this much danger.

In boxing you are going to get hit sometimes...some more than others. The flaws that JMM took advantage of are not the flaws PAC still has. PAC has strengthened the weaknesses that were prevalent earlier in his career. Even in the rematch that version of PAC was better, but not the complete evolution that we see before us today.

Floyd is a different ballgame.....but I think JMM styles is a bit more troublesome for PAC b/c JMM is a counter puncher who applies a lot of pressure as well. Floyd will be a slick, defensive counter puncher where the combination will allow PAC to do his damage and win his rounds. Floyd will be able to adapt but PAC will win his moments where he's fighting on the inside, on the ropes or in the corner.

I wouldn't say Floyd is more skilled, he just has a differnet style with A LOT more talent and natrual gifts. Which will be a problem for PAC....but on the flip side....PAC's style and natrual ability will be all sorts of problems for Floyd as well. This wont' be an easy fight for either guy.

That's cool! I agree Floyd will beat PAC by decision but I see it a very close fight where PAC inflicts more damage over the course of the fight. But I think it will bring out the best in Floyd and he'll have to FIGHT! When he goes toe to toe with PAC that will be where PAC excels and wins his rounds. But I just think Floyd won't be in the trenches long enough for PAC to win the MAJORITY of rounds. There are flaws Floyd the technical fighter he is will exploit, but Floyd has flaws himself agaisnt the right kind of style....I feel PAC has the style and the kind of tlalent and natrual ability to cause floyd the most problems he's ever seen within the ring.

I think it's impossible to tell wether Pac has improved even more since his rematch with Marquez, because nobody he's faced since then presented a really big challenge in terms of speed, defense and counterpunching. Cotto is a pretty good counterpuncher, but not like Marquez and certainly not like Mayweather, and he's not nearly as fast.

Cotto isn't exactly slow....sure he's slower than PAC, but Cotto is solid in counter puncher. He matched Shane's speed in their encounter and he was able to counter Josh and Shane successfully throughout the 12 round fights. No one is as fast as Floyd or PAC besides guys like Zab or Khan at this weight. For me the improvements are clear each time PAC steps in the ring for a new challenge. Sure Floyd will be a problem due to the style and talent level but again.....both are operating at a completely different level than their peers.

just want to chime in on this...

if floyd does see this so-called flaw, then try to exploit it...but it also means that he will prompt pac to retaliate. i don't see pac running away from floyd because of getting hit once or twice. cotto hit pac with some really hard shots, it didn't make pac change his style or gameplan.

for me, i want floyd to try and exploit any weakness he thinks pac has...it just means more action for me (an average boxing fan, but a big pac fan). at the end, one wins and one loses.
