Something is fishy about Pavlik's hand problem. UPDATED 5/14

    Kelly Pavlik did not want the Mora fight, Jack Leow did not want it, and Cameron Dunkin never sounded to keen on the idea. It seems that Bob Arum is the only person who actually thought it was a good idea. Now The Cleveland Plain dealer reported that Cameron Dunkin REFUSED to confirm reports of Pavlik's hand problems. Neither Pavlik nor Leow returned the Plain Dealers calls. Something seems fishy to me.

    The "Warren Trbune," one of the local papers in the Youngstown area, secured a short interview with Jack Leow. Here are a few excerpts.

    YOUNGSTOWN — Kelly Pavlik’s father and co-manager Mike Pavlik Sr. said his son has a “clean bill of health” and is wondering why Top Rank Boxing decided to shelve an upcoming bout with Sergio Mora.
    “Kelly didn’t cancel any fight due to injury,” Mike Sr. said late Wednesday night. “As a matter of fact, he had been loosening up in the gym over the past week getting ready for the fight.
    “We were ready to fight.”

    Boo, I would'nt be surprised. Time for Kelly to see about get'n his contract bought out by GBP!

    Who knows at this point? The ESPN, Max Boxing, and Vindy.Com reports were all based on what Todd deDeof said. The Cleveland Plain Dealer report came later; AFTER they tried to confirm the situation with Team Pavlik.

    It was going to be a horrible boring fight to begin with. Mora sucks.

    i dont like mora at all, but he did have the style to give pavlik fits.....if a human punching bag like rubio who is a former 147 pounder can last with pavlike, i'm sure an elusive, but aggressive fighter like mora would give him fits.....not only that, but when has mora showed a bad chin

    Mora got put on his ass by Archack Termelaksatian for Christ's sake, and he got cut up by a few guys. ****er would not see the end of 5.

    he also stopped shark attack too....

    being put on your ass with a flash knockdown has nothing to do with how good your chin is....he always seems in shape, and he's banged it out with people before and never showed a shaky chin, at all......

    that's like saying, pavlik landed a bunch of power shots on rubios head and couldn't ko him, HE HAS NO POWER.....

    If he's saying he can't fight because of an injury it would make it difficult to take another fight in its place.

    I don't like him fighting Mora but he might as well fight him as have no fight at all.

    Agreed. I never liked the Mora fight, but if it's this fight or nothing, I'd rather he take the fight.
