LOL Ward>Kovalev. Sour grapes is hard to swallow. You honestly thought Kov was going to permanetaly destroy Wards career. Remember? Ward proved you wrong.......twice! Face it! You can try to discredit Ward all you want, bottom line, he kicked ass and took names. I mention Kovalev because, from those fights is where all the hateful venom spews. You Kovaloving suckas will never have the joy of watching Ward's 0 go. LOL

Remember Stevenson left HBO to avoid fighting Kovalev, Stevenson has never been forced to defend his WBC title at all, he hasn't fought a mandatory is years.......................Kovalev, Bivol, Beterbiev, Gvozdyk would all knock Stevenson out and they would also knock out Jack...................

 

In public opinion perhaps, but the record books reflect something else. In all honesty, I felt Kovalev edged Ward out in the first fight, but enjoy all the sour grapes displayed by all the hateful Kovalev fans. Makes me laugh when they come up with all the excuses And what not.

 

He lost 5 months after the Super Six, and Ward hadn't fought anyone else at that point. If he had fought 3 other guys , maybe you could say "duck." He didn't fight at all.

 

There was a Stevenson-Kovalev purse bid, Kovalev's promoter pulled out twice. That is a fact, the rest is all gossip.

You failed to mention Yvon Michel asked the WBC to go straight to a purse bid once the WBC put Kovalev in the mandatory spot for the belt. Meaning no wriggle room for negotiations.

 

Oh yes, I get it, he was going to be fighting for 35% of the purse and it would have been unfair. But they did that against Ward anyway.

 

kovalev got completely played by ward in negotiations.

 

Actually I think the WBC said the purse would be 50-50%. The real problem was Kovalev had just signed a new contract with HBO and even though they probably wouldn't help him in the purse bid, they would surely sue if he fought on Showtime.

Exclusivity deals really killed a lot of fights.

 

stevenson has ducked anyone decent for years now. he is happy to sit in Quebec, fight one bum a year, and do whatever it is he enjoys.

 

Yeah, I don't argue it. Lots of politics and stuff, but the bottom line is There were two purse bids and Duva pulled Kovalev out, then negotiated an even worse situation against Ward.

I'm not even a real fan of Stevenson, but all of this "Stevenson ducked him" nonsense is silly.
