Guys, I am sad to say this because as a true PR man I always want to see my people doing good but for some reason I think that Calderon is getting KO'd against Casarez... ****, I hope that I am wrong.
I agree. Age is setting in and he's facing a difficult style matchup(a.k.a. a dangerous opponent for a change) who more or less has his style down after their first matchup.
IF not him I think its gonna be Ulises Solis, another mex, from Guadalajara. This guy is ranked #1 and is a terrific boxer/counter puncher with a great chin. Along with alien reflexes as well.
Calderon Is #3 Lb For Lb Right Now In My Book And He Knows How To Box...he Has Great Defense And Though Casarez Is A Good Puncher I Think Calderon Will Be Moving Alot In This Fight...calderon By Ud
Cazares really hurt Calderon a few times, the most I've ever seen him hit and wobbled. I don't know if Calderon showed his age as much as it was moving up in weight and having to deal with heavier punchers like Hugo. In the rematch, I think Calderon should still be a favorite, but not a very strong one. Cazares should make him touch the canvas at least once, and anything more might be the balance in a decision. Hell, he might even knock Ivan out. Cazares is a very good fighter who doesn't get the pub he deserves. Maybe if he KO's Calderon, beats Solis to unify, then wins a belt at 112, he will creep into the Ring Top 10 P4P. But first things first, and the Iron Boy will always be a challenge because of his style. As far as Solis is concerned, he's a solid fighter with a big right hand. But his defense is very spotty, and he's been put down on the canvas before and hurt badly by a strawweight moving up in his first fight, Rodel Mayol. Glenn Donaire was technically outgunned by Solis but still managed to back him up and land a few flush shots.
I think this is Calderon's career-defining fight. He needs to show he can adjust in the rematch against a guy who almost had him down and out. If Cazares wins, there should be a third fight. This could shape up to be the modern-day Finito Lopez vs. Rosendo Alvarez, although not quite at that level.
Well I hope you are right. :yep I'm tired of Calderon's running style. It's an eye sore. And besides . . . knocking him down is the surest way for Cazares to win . . . he won't get a decission wiin over Calderon in Puerto Rico. :deal
Well I can understand Calderon losing against Cazares. Who comes to the ring at about 130lbs. He already said this is his last fight at 108lbs because its too damn hard to make the weight. But lets remember, the only reason Calderon is fighting at 108 is because nobody wanted to fight him at 105lbs. Calderon was already the smallest at 105. BUT ULISES SOLIS????? GIVE ME A ****ING BREAK!!!!!! cALDERON COULD TAKE SOLIS TO SCHOOL ANY ****ING DAYatsch
Let me explain you something. Last fight the american and the Mexican-american judges saw Calderon winning. The Puerto Rican judge saw Cazares winning. So, the comment about winning a desicion in PR is pure BS
That said, Most guys at 112lbs are afraid of Cazares. And Calderon is really a 105lbs. Thats says a lot about Calderon
Hugo Fidel Cazares was rumored to have weighed 131 pounds in the ring. An increase of over 23 pounds from the prior day's weigh-in. If that is true then he had a huge advantage in the fight
Dieppa is about as inept as they come for a ranked fighter. Solis has improved since that loss a few years back, but I don't think very highly of him either.
Not saying Dieppa is a star. But I have Solis at about same level as Dieppa. Cazares and Calderon are way better than both of them
