People putting Bradley in the top 10. This isnt a view from this weekend,, its something I've had ever since he started appearing in them. He's only had 1 fight outside of 140, and his resume at 140 isn't all that good. I mean, its certainly not bad, but its not top 10 p4p. Alexander was the win that meant people started putting him in there, but that win looks worse and worse by the day. Fighters clearly ahead of him (in no order): Pac man Mayweather Wlad JMM Sergio Donaire These guys HAVE to be top 6 in some order IMO. Hopkins (linear Champ and not clearly lost a fight for ages) Vitali (OK, not the best resume, but hasnt clearly lost a round for ages) Pongsaklek Wonjongkam (amazing run) Giovani Segura (beats Calderon twice) Froch (Great resume, even though he's been in a lot of tight fights) Ward (beating every1 he faces easily, and a lot of different styles) All of them are the next rung down, but all above Bradley. Then on Bradley's level, i have people like kahn, bute, maybe cotto (i dont think so, but i know others do), Gamboa. I think the above fighters are all on Bradleys level P4P. I don't get how people put Bradley in top 10. I reallllly don't get how ring has him number 6!!!
I agree. I never did understand how he made it into the top 10. I really don’t like to endorse the American hype notion that many have on here, but they [American fighters] do tend to be exalted more than other fighters when it comes to pound-for-pound rankings. Bradley, despite being a very good fighter, is evidence of this. Andre Ward, who I admire very much, is another one.
He's gotten extremely overrated- he's a solid all-around guy, but he's not the 6th toughest guy to beat or the 6th most accomplished guy in the sport right now. No way should he be that high while guys like Gamboa, Nishioka, Adamek, Bute, Froch, and Khan aren't even rated. It just reinforces the biases of the Ring's P4P list. Honestly, it's a bit of a miracle Pong found his way onto that list at all.
the top10 was weak for a very long time. That's how. Even now, you have a guy like Froch in your top10, but Froch is 2-1 in his last 3 fights with a very recent loss to Kessler. Giovanni Segura beat Calderon but Calderon is very old and much smaller than him. Hopkins is pretty old himself and barely edged by Pascal, looked pretty bad in his fight against a totally shot to **** RJJ. WJK has had a great run but against who? I would say Ward and Vitali are definitely above Bradley from those you listed in that 2nd group, but the rest is arguable I'd have Bute above Bradley too, as well as Cotto and Khan
I agree, it applies to ward as well,he is clearly rated high because he is american, eventhough he is pretty skilled who has he fought? only kessler? allthough he probably deserves his ranking if he beats froch but will end up 6 or something like that. I rate gamboa higher.
I think the choices make it look weaker than it could be. I don't know how Gamboa still isn't on the list, for example. I'm going by the Ring's list btw, which doesn't rate Froch at all.
