first I want to say thats a fair cw. Nothing to comment.

But I don't get it who demand this cw ?

Its something tricky right here IMO. Floyd wanted this fight at 147 / 150 ?:think and Canelo asked @ 152 knowing that Floyd wouldn't go up @ 154 ? :think And right now Floyd is saying that Canelo wanted the 152 cw, not him. Practically Floyd is right that Canelo asked for this cw but Floyd 'forgot' to mention that he low-balled Canelo with this weight.

If Canelo would've asked Floyd 154 or nothing ?! What would've said Floyd ?
    :think

im going to assume it was part of negotiations. i think floyd asked for 147 off the bat. now its alot like buying a car .. people advertise it for 1 or 2 grand higher then they will take .. if someone does not want to haggle them down they just made an extra 1 - 2k .. if they do they have plenty of wiggle room and it gives the buyer the impression you are willing to cut them a nice deal

floyd knew the fight was never going to be at 147 and slowly worked his way to 152 which i think is pretty fair considering

    1. floyd weighs 152 on the night of JR middleweight fights
    2. canelo weighs a wopping 172
    3. floyd is past prime but still willing to go out of his comfort zone to give us the fight we all want

floyd prob asked for 147, canelo bargained his way to 152 they agreed fight got signed. so in a sense yes canelo asked for 152 but it was floyd that lead him there

    indeed.

The question is if Canelo's team asked about 154 weight cuz they knew that Floyd fought at that weight 2 times and what Floyd's team said about that ?! :think

    Floyd : 147. :yep

Canelo : No, its too low for me. :nono

Floyd : then how about 150 ? :hey

    Canelo : 152 would be ok ? :think:D

Floyd : Ummm, lets do it ! :yep::deal

..... so basically Floyd low-balled Canelo.

Oscar and cotto were blown up welters. its not a coincidence that a natural 154 lber gets Floyd at a catchweight while they didnt

canelo is 'new territory' for floyd

he is giving us the fight we want. if canelo is comftorble making 152 what is the problem? its not like canelo only rehydrates up to 160 or something.. he walks in at 172 vs floyd at 152. dont we have weight divisions for a reason?

152 is a fair cw, no doubt. Floyds not a big guy.

what if Canelo would've insisted to have this fight @ 154, what Floyd would've said ? It would've taken it @ 154 or he would've tried to negotiate for 150 / 152 cw ? :think

umm i think he would have given into the demand eventually but hed make canelo pay for it. floyd would bargain with the weight issue and get himself even more PPV share an purse split.. maybe even getting his glove and ring size

actually while we are on that subject has the glove an ring size been announced?

one thing you have to take into consideration: floyd is the "a" side of this fight. floyd ideally would like all of his fights to be at 147 because that's his weight class. if somebody in a weight class above him wants to fight him, protocol should be that the "b" side fighter move down in weight to challenge him. he is the more successful prizefighter as of today so he has more leverage. floyd coming up a few pounds to make canelo feel more comfortable is a generous thing for him to do.

Which Floyd are you guys talking about here. Are you guys talking about Floyd Mayweather Jr?

I thought he only fight his opponents at their best weight where they're not drained and is hydrated. He was fair and only fight on an even level of playing field.

If Canelo is 172 lbs on fight night it won't make a difference anyway.

That this fight is for a jr. middleweight title is a joke since the weight limit is for 154 lbs., but Mayweather has insisted it be fought at a 152 lb. catchweight.

It should simply be an exhibition match at this catchweight.

And this whole situation is why same-day weigh-ins need to be brought back!
