Sorry friend but on what planet do you think Ward loses to Kkkov and why? Ward only gets hit with power shots from the inside, and that's a game Sergei doesn't want to play with dre. And boxing from the outside? C'mon man. What does kov do that would trouble Ward?
I don't think he loses to him mate. I truly believe that he can beat Kovalev if he's at the top of his game. I was just pointing out that I'd prefer him to stay at SMW a little longer, because Kovalev's not going anywhere at the minute. Also, Beterbiev is moving up the rankings fast. I want Ward to fight the winner of DeGale-Bute and then possibly GG before he moves up. But it doesn't look as though it's going to happen. I think he must be really struggling with the weight. So I'd like to see the Kovalev fight in a few years, not next year. But IF Ward did lose to Kovalev next year, and it was a decisive loss, where would he go from there? Unless there's no way he can safely make SMW, I'd be telling him to stay put for the next 12-18 months if I was Virgil Hunter. :good
Say fellow boxing friends, why do you care to discuss things like draw popularity etc etc? A side? B side? who cares? Why not discuss the heads up boxing? How do either GGG or Kov do in cramped quarters? With no distance to get behind their punches? Wards an elite master boxer and good brawler. Two styles that kov and GGG can't deal with
We're on a boxing forum where we discuss all things boxing related. I prefer to talk about the actual boxing but sometimes its necessary to put a reasonable spin on the business side to counter the fanboys nonsense. This particular thread was about Ward's perception of himself in terms of negotiating and then moved into the possibilities of a GGG - Ward fight. If you want to talk about who would win in the ring and how, there is a thread for that: http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=550461 Not sure there is currently a Kovalev - Ward thread but there has been so you can dig that up.
