Dirrell shud have got the decision, but coz froch was the champ, and direll was running away most the time i understood why he didnt get the decision.

Kessler - ward, some people say Ward won because of headbutts, i think they havent watched the fight at all

ward was smart, and taking away Kessler's main assets his jab, straight right, and uppercut in the inside. Kessler never landed one of those punches effectively

 

I'm not really a Dirrell fan or a Froch fan, just a neutral observer in that one. That was a horrible, shitty fight where neither man deserved to win; but if you had to pick a winner Dirrell probably deserved to lose a little less. Not a robbery.

I'm also an American Kessler fan who thinks he got absolutely schooled. Not even Danes have called that a robbery.

This is just stupid. Kessler cleaned out the weight class before fighting Calzaghe. Maybe he hadn't fought the best out there lately, but he pretty much cleaned out the top 10 other than Lacy and Calzaghe at one point. I don't know how that's 'hand picking' opponents. That's like saying Wlad has hand picked his opponents over the past few years.

 

I can see why. Froch-Dirrell was close & Dirrell looked the better boxer.
Ward did but & hold a lot. He could have won without doing that and left Kessler fans/Ward hater no excuses.
But yeah I agree people need to get over it. The decisions were'nt that bad.

There is no ****ing way ANYONE is claiming Kessler won. Show me one person claiming that! Kessler got beaten up. YES there may have been a bit of naughty business with the head butts, but NO Kessler did not win. I'm amazed you're claiming it happened.

 

Don't think that any Kessler fans are saying that he was robbed? Ward won the fight and I think he would have even without the dirty tactics. I am a Kessler fan, but is just wasn't his night and I think he still has some ring rust, but Ward is a hungry and talented fighter and that is what won him the fight.

As for Froch and Dirrell. Well if you are a Froch fan than you like the bulldog like approach that Froch has and would have him ahead on points and if you like Dirrell than you are found of his pure boxing skills with the quickness and in-and-out approach, and of course would have him the winner. But that fight could have gone either way and I believe that a hometown decision always gives you a extra 1-2 rounds minimum so it was very close

 

I call for a mandatory IQ test when new accounts are registered - if you score too low vbulletin doesn't allow you to create threads.

 

They definitely need to do a better job of staging the fights. Personally, I'd like to see every fight in a neutral country or at least state, and the refs and judges should obviously be from neutral areas.

The Kessler/Ward fight wasn't a robbery, but it was horribly ugly to watch and would have been much better if it was staged fairly. The Dirrell/Froch fight wasn't quite a robbery, though I personally thought Dirrell won or at least got a draw. I went into it supporting Dirrell and by the end I was praying for Froch to KO him, because it was an awful performance. I can definitely see judges scoring the close rounds for Froch due to Dirrell's apparent immaturity and fear.

No way to campare those fights. I had martinez 7-5 but was cool with anything close in either fighters favor. That 119-109 card was flat BS and that guy should be exiled from boxing. In the williams martinez fight there were alot of punches landing on both fighters.

That was not the case in the dirrell froch fight. Froch didn't land 5 POWER PUNCHES to Dirrell's face the whole fight. Froch maybe landed around 20 (non head moving) Jabs and about 50 rabbit punches. Dirrell was snapping froch's head back and landed alot more POWER PUNCHES (non jabs) to froch's face. The place felt fishy from the start when they had no punch stat and it ended fishy. IF ANYONE CAN FIND 5 POWER PUNCHES FROM FROCH THAT LANDED CLEAN ON DIRREL'S FACE THEN PLEASE POST THE TIMES OF THE ROUNDS. You won't have that problem finding straights and hooks that snapped froch's head back.

Dirrell didn't just run. Even when he was still froch couldn't hit him. How can someone give more credit to the guy swinging at air instead of giving credit to the guy who ducked, slipped and blocked all those punches. Missing isn't a scoring criteria but defense is. Ring generalship goes to the guy who is landing. Froch coming forward hitting air doesn't give him that because if the other guy snapps your head back more then you aren't in controll. I don't even have to mention clean punching because anyone with eyes saw that it wasn't even close.

Those fights aren't even close and I can't believe you tried to make such a poor comparison. I do agree with you that dirrell should be ashamed he didn't beat such a limited fighter. Dirrell also has to realize that balance and body language can leave the door opened to get robbed.
