One of his sparring partners for the Mosley fight did an interview about. His career was almost ended after a sparring session with Margo. He said it felt like he was getting hit with bricks.

He used to train at the rival gym of where Margarito trains and says he frequently traveled there to spar with all of them. One time in particular, he was at camp with Margarito for a fight (I didn't ask him which one ) but he gave me a couple things to think about that you guys probably would like to hear:

its completely different. One trainer took tweezers to remove the padding from the glove while the other hardened the knuckle pads which probably does more to protect the knuckles than to damage the opponent. I mean knuckles are already pretty hard, I think he just wanted added protection on his hands. Sure it makes the fist harder than with regular pads but there is still the glove between the pad and the opponent. Its not even comparable to what Panama did.
