It's weird people think Ward is worth paying the judges over. As if a rematch wouldn't have happened anyway and made everyone money with a point or two in Kovalev's favor. As if Ward is more exciting or significantly more marketable than Kovalev. As if Ward has some giant home fanbase to appease. As if the odds were so wide that the house was going to lose big money.

Corruption happens when there's a clear money-making favorite to be protected or, in a rare case like Pac-Bradley, a rematch to be milked that wouldn't have happened otherwise. Ward won a close fight by a point that people disagree with, with a rematch inevitable. That's not the same thing.

 

I thought Kovalev won but this whole 'robbery' stuff is becoming tedious. A close fight with the wrong decision. Key word being CLOSE. We can't shout corruption over things like this, it tarnishes any genuine gripes we can have with actual bad scoring.

 

They really should have pushed for the rematch to be in Russia. What's fair is fair.

 

Nah, he feasibly won 7 rounds. No gift at all. On my card he won 7. It was a razor close fight, no gifts were given.

 

I thought Kovalev did enough to win it but only just and only just when your not the home fighter isnt enough. He needed to work a bit harder in those mid to late rounds to make sure the judges could not sway in Wards favour. And im not claiming home town robbery. Its the same all over the world.

Kovalev won at least 8, more like 9 rounds, scored a KI and outlanded in every round except one. You 'close fight" people are almost as lost as the Ward one space cadets. What anyone could have possibly saw to think that fight was remotely competitive is beyond me.

 

kovalev is disrespecting ward. calling him son of judges. notice ward hasnt said nothing about sergey. i think sergey should take the loss like man. and just shut up an prepare for rematch.

 

OP is a Ward fanboy thinking the victory is guaranteed.

I think Ward will do it but it's by no means a guarantee on the cards.
