I wonder who the promoter is. It's hard to imagine it being any of the normal local promoters in NZ. If it was there wouldn't be any talk of 100,000 dollars. He'd get 1,500 and a case of beer after the fight.

Should have guessed. Stupid question. I just hadn't heard of them doing anything over in NZ.

I hate to play devils advocate but one might question whether they are using earthquake as marketing for the promotion. Basically getting the average joe New Zealander to buy into the hype of Sonny Bill as a boxer for the future.

No doubt I completely believe Sonny Bill is doing it with good intentions. But I don't think Khoder gives a **** about it other than it being good marketing and having $$$ attached.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter to me. I just don't want to have a conversation with a kiwi that knows nothing of boxing, where they start mentioning Sonny Bill and future heavyweight champ or second coming of Ali, in the same sentence.

Hahaha. The 1500 I was imagining if it were payper view. But you're right that is a ridiculously high sum. Maybe a free six pack, but they have to buy their own ticket to the event.

We've been copping Boxa's dodgy promotions for years.

About time our Kiwi cousins shared some of the pain.

Be very sceptical about this mobs motives.

$ 100,000 is that gilt edged guaranteed ?
