Funnily enough its the same French Rugby club that paid Dan Carter 1.5 Mill for a 6 month stint with them.

Looking good for a future AB spot :happy

Pecks All Blacks do pick outside Super 14, it's just that they have never had the need to. If Sonny was to be a future AB he would def have to be coming in from Super 14s

he can't play for New zealand mate while he is part of contract with the Frog team, They hate all these nation teams like Australia and NZ,SA because they put road blocks in front of them getting there best players like if you go to Frog land for the big money No chance playing for nation team, Which mean no world cup, tri nations or big European tours, It will be SBW contract with the frogs you at here all the time for the 2 years or no money, Why do you think there going for Aussie League players not great young Union players there easy to get to because there is not internation thing like union and they can get them like SBW in there prime.

This comment gives great insight into the bias attitude that those at News Ltd also possess. If Mitchell Pearce (son of Balmain Legend Wayne Pearce) done the same thing, does anyone honestly believe that he would be called a dog by someone like Mark Geyer?

Remember Geyer not only used illegal drugs during his playing career but went accross to Perth to play in the super league competition due to the huge amounts of cash that were thrown at him. His comments show him up to be a hypocrite in the extreme and I have no doubt that should he ever come across SBW he'll run and hide like the dog he is.

Considering that the News Ltd owned "Daily Telegraph" were deeply involved in Super League, is it surprising that they used his comments as some sort of bull**** example on how others think? One also must remember that the Bulldogs were one of the few Sydney based teams that went with News Ltd and Super League that ripped the heart out of the greatest of games.

Writers for The Daily Telegraph are the ones that worked as fast as possible to get this story out so they could set the tone and direction, complete with bias and personal agenda. The fact that bad blood between them and Mundine goes back over a decade, should give cause to anyone with an ounce of intelligence to take all editorials produced by News Ltd reporters with more than a pinch of salt.

In fact their bottled water is exported direct from the Dead Sea!

There's so much omitted in this story that it has allowed certain people to use it for their own agendas. The NRL have been under huge presure, taking fire from all directions. Poor crowds, player behaviour, growing popularity of AFL in areas formerly seen as league strongholds, poker machine tax, rule changes, dangerous tackling techniques and the general direction of the game itself combined with the mass exodus of big name players has their backs against the wall. The poor attempt to portray Sonny Bill as some sort of Judas is a sad reflection on the desperation that David Gallop and others at the NRL are feeling.

Remember, Mark Gasnier is also leaving for France but as nephew of league immortal Reg Gasnier the press know that they can (or choose to) only go so far. Sure there's a difference between the two situations.....one is waiting until the end of the year while the other isn't.

Contract? Since when have league clubs given a **** about the player when it comes to contracts? Anyone remember what happend at Newcastle last year when the club decided that it would be in their best interest to keep one of their better performing players out of first grade, denying him the opportunity to activate a clause in his contract that would force an upgrade? The press would like us to believe that it was a rare, one off incident but the truth is that Newcastle coach Brian Smith was out of flavour with the fans at the time.

Blow it out of proportion, let it run and sell papers.

When it comes to this story it's really about The Bulldogs keeping their corporate sponsors after years of infighting and drama. The club has been a shambles for years and nothing has changed since a new board was elected, apart from the fact that they now hate one another. This just happens to be the only area where Sonny Bill could have problems if the club goes ahead with legal action because of the corporate link. This is also why Khoder has stated that he is no longer SBW's manager because he could be held complicit in the breaking of a contract.

On the flip side there is the ridiculous situation where you can't be a player's manager unless you are accredited with the NRL. This could be seen as a conflict of interest while Sonny Bill could argue he signed his contract under duress due to the fact that these managers know that it's in their best interest to keep players in the NRL, without pushing their demands for payment to high as that would be damaging for the clubs and the NRL.

In other words, the person responsible for representing the player is really working both sides.

When it comes to loyality in today's era of professional sport it goes as far as a lame horse can "gallop". In the NRL the salary cap makes it impossible for a successful club to keep the same team for more than two years so any talk of loyalty is illogical. Take a look at World Football (soccer) and you'll see how clubs trade player contracts regardless of player consideration. Elite atheletes around the world are hired and fired at the drop of a dime although it comes with the territory of a highly paid professional athlete...unless you play in the NRL.

Australian rugby league players are as professional and elite as any other sportsmen in the world yet their payments do not reflect that. Compare the abilities of David Beckham to Johnathon Thurston and then explain how one earns more in a month than one will in a lifetime? The answer comes back to the management and promotion of the player and the popularity of the sport. This is not the players job, it is the responsibility of the sport's administration and the player's management. If they don't do the job well enough the player has every right to go somewhere where he'll get paid closer to his market price as an elite athelete (or what he and/or others believe he is truely worth.)

The fact that Sonny Bill will be paid significently more in France playing union than he was in league does nothing but prove that Khoder Nasser has done the job that others could not. Others players will follow unless something changes quickly in the NRL regarding player payments.

As for IrnBruMan, even Don King couldn't help promote a cross dressing shemale for anything other than a bit part in a Romanian Circus full of one legged dwarfs....

some very good points, but It is the way he did it. It is not rocket science. Nobody in the world would say bad SBW taking the money like Gas, but it was all in the way he did it and Nassar is a big reason. I respect the guy nassar with his ability to make people money and with Williams he has taken the boxing way of doing business, Take all the money you can get your hands on because you can be 1 second way from it disappearing.

Anyone that believes Khoder has that much influence over Sonny Bill would probably believe that Osama Bin Laden is still alive and that George W Bush is Satan.

In reality, Sonny Bill has been unhappy for some time but Willie Mason and Mark O'Meally leaving was the last straw because the Bulldogs asked Williams to take a paycut so that they could keep them.

The only thing Khoder, Choc and big Sol can be implicated in is giving SBW the support and confidence to do what he really wanted to do....get away from Belmore.

Until then he had to deal with those around him spoon feeding him anything and everything they could in an attempt to manipulate and confuse him into going against everything he felt was right. The Bulldogs believed that without Sonny Bill their crippled boat would sink but Khoder and company opened his eyes so that he could see the truth of the matter....that the boat will sink wheather he's on board or not.

    Better to get out now.

The Bulldogs ****ed him over and now he's gone they're crying foul. If they had done the right thing by him and kept their end of the bargin we wouldn't be discussing this.

Tonight on Triple M Phil Gould killed David Gallop on the radio.

It was like Gould has had this rage forever and was waiting to vent his anger about how NRL has been managed over recent times. Man he brought up some good points about the whole Sonny Bill situation and more.
