Read about this. Fair play to him if it's what he wants to do.

You are probably right. It was a mundine promoted event and Sonny Bills opponents were not even allowed to have an amatuer record. You could pull people out of pubs that would do better than his opponents. Anyone with a bit of training would have cleaned him up.

I watched 30 seconds of him sparring and vowed never to watch him again. He has the physical size, strength, speed and power to one day be good if he spent a few years learning to box. Mundine will keep putting him on his cards to sell tickets. He will never take boxing seriously as he will never get out from under Mundine.

He's probably just using the boxing to supplement his income.

He turned down a three year NZ$2m p/a deal from Toulon to play for the AB's at around $600k.... with a bit of sponsorship and a few tomato cans to knock over he won't be all that far off.

His last fight headlined a PPV in Australia. And we think some of our PPVs are bad...

He looks alot bigger in the ring than he does on a rugby pitch. Watched the Crusaders game the other day and he was unreal.

He donated $100,000 dollars to the fund for people who were part of the devastation back in Christchurch. He gets props from me for that...shame he's **** at Boxing...

I remember when I was in Sydney in 2000-2001 when Antony Mundine was moving from rugby to boxing and the newspapers were slating him. He got absolute abuse, they were willing him to fail and the prophets of doom came out of the woodwork predicting that he would get KO'd before he got anywhere.

I can recall the reports when he won his first couple of fights, the immediate 'qualifiers' were, that he hadn't fought anyone etc and that he would get done when he fought anyone half decent etc. How they were wrong - if you had predicted what he would achieved (as a late starter) most people would have mocked you!
