Boxing is more of a hobby than a profession for Sonny Bill. He's a beast on the pitch tbf.

If he was anything special he'd be taking boxing seriously and looking to make 4-5 Million a year on HBO instead of playing for the Chiefs in my hometown where to e honest he'd be on max 300k per year.

 

It's a shame he gave up rugby league, he could have been one of the best players ever, if not the best.

Obviously the money was in union, so he went for that, and does boxing on the side.

yeah, he's earning about 8% of what a world class heavyweight would get. The Boxer would also get much bigger sponsorships

The All Blacks don't get massive sponsorships either, apart from the Addidas one, which pays about 10% of what their football sponsorships do.

Special at rugby which is at best a marginal sport, nothing special at all at boxing which is a global sport.

In NZ, rugby is practically religion - much like cricket is in India.

He's probably earning a fair whack boxing, his last fight was on PPV.
