Has securing this role with DAZN aided his decision to retire? I think Sonny is really good and fair in his Commentary not exhilarating or flashy but gives credit to 'opponents' work and getting the scoring shots conveyed to the watcher from both fighters. Which is pretty refreshing considering the absolute fan boy commentary from seemingly every other commentator on every platform. As for his punditry he seems more knowledgeable than any other pundit currently around he knows everyone of note in every weight class including amateur level. Im glad he has a gig on DAZN and makes the comms in insight more bearable. But getting this gig makes me think he lost his hunger for the training in turn making him retire. Also managing fighters i bet he is getting paid more per month now than as an active fighter at his weight class.
He's certainly better than Costello who is apparently a radio specialist and in my very humble opinion rubbish! However and as superficial of me this may be I just can't stand Sunny Edwards. That may be a fault of mine more than his when talking about his commentary but he's a wee sleazy muppet to me.

He said he hates commentating on his mates in the broadcast implying he was going to be bias towards his pal. But even at the end he was still calling Fawaz shots.
Should be based on meritocracy and a dweeb like Edwards is hardly going to be the best candidate for the job. His voice and accent are also awful. Is it just me or does he put on some sort of false accent or exaggerate his already **** accent?
