If RJJ fights like Machen he could go distance maybe even win but since he's not that durable and doesn't have heart I doubt he would survive full 12 rounds but hey anything is possible.

I do agree with your post, Sonny Liston did have issues with fighters who displayed movement, Machen, later Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali) in Feb 1964.

I would guess a KO win for Sonny Liston, around round #2, when the Color Commentator says: "I gave Roy the first round. He is really surprising me in this fight! He may be able to hold Sonny off or...even...even...uhoh!"

All of Liston’s knockouts were staged, didn’t you know that? Wayne Bethea showed Sonny his teeth and said “ here, knocked em out !! “

That was the only stoppage of Bethea’s career. Poor guy apparently lost 7 teeth according to one report

Either Liston goes the distance, or loses when pitted in any H2H match up here according to this guy.

Roy Jones Jr dresses up like Marty Marshall in 1954 or Leotis Martin in Dec 1969.

    That fight was brutal!

Makes your stomach turn when the ref ever so carefully removes Wayne’s mouth guard (which it wasn’t, really, was it?) to check out Sonny’s dentistry work sans anaesthetic.

Bethea put those under his pillow and scored about $7 the following morning to cut his losses.

Ruiz was able to land on RJJ if Liston is landing those same right hands he's sending RJJ to the shadow realms.

I'm a big fan of RJJ and he might surprise Liston early on with his speed, but sooner or later Liston catches him and it's lights out. RJJ would also have trouble with Liston's poleaxe jab the man was a freak with an 84 inch reach at only 6'1.

Liston by KO within 3 rounds.

And later Wayne Bethea sings the Bobby Hebb1966 song "Sonny" thru his gummy gums. Ha Ha.
