Quarry can't keep his distance. Quarry gets mauled.

Liston is too powerful, too skilled. Quarry could make it competitive for a couple of rounds but that's it. Quarry hits hard but not hard enough to keep Liston away from him.

Richard you must hate Jerry to do this to him. Quarry was couragous and tough just Liston's jab alone would be damaging. Quarry would go some rounds maybe earn some respect.
Liston could win with his boxing skills if he chose to.

I really admired both but I wanted to see the reaction of all you guys, but agree that Sonny takes this one, possibly by TKO.

Quarry is a live dog. Machen survived Liston (and beat a young Jerry) but Liston and Foreman for that matter their styles were Jerry’s bread and butter. He schooled Spencer, Foster, Lyle and crushed Shavers.
Styles make fights. Personally Liston’s Jab is too much for Jerry to overcome but I always felt Foreman was made to order for Quarry. Again that doesn’t mean Jerry wins, but his track record suggests he could win.

His track record does not suggest anything, Foreman would hurt quarry badly , stopped by tko taking serious damage

Between the two of them Liston, Foreman it would be George who leaves his jab at home. Quarry could some counterpunches. If Jerry's defense was tighter on the perfect maybe he Foreman to gas out and then come on. Quarry wound then have a shot to back George up.
Sonny didn't have stamina issues or have a problem being patient, setting guys up.

Spencer had discovered *****, booze and certain substances and was living the high life ,none of the others could box as well as Sonny.Foster was untested against top opposition,Lyle's career began to late for him to achieve what he might have done had he had earlier schooling.Quarry broke Shavers jaw in that initial round, and he never got a chance to regroup.

    Quarry!
    To tough and courage!
Style amkes fights and Quarry would beat Liston!
If you are swarmer you can beat Quarry but if you are slow slugger like Foster/Lyle/Shavers Quarry would beat you to the punch!
Quarry unlike Patterson was as fast but with harder punch and iron chin plus there is no way of Sonny intimidation tricks because Quarry would not back down even if he stand infront of hell gates...he was tough and unable to be intimidated like Evander/Frazier/Marciano....

This is probably closer than some think but I just think Sonny just has a little bit more in every department, especially with the jab.
It could be a good boxing match both have good all round skills this would give Jerry a better chance though I’d still favour Liston.
If it turned into some kind of slugfest though, then although he’s tough this wouldn’t end well for Quarry.
You can’t afford to be hit too often by Sonny Liston there can only be one outcome.

Mmmm, poor Jerry, he of course would bring his usual DNA that being courage beyond the call, and he will prob make a fight of it for a while, but eventually Sonnys big punching would be taking its toll on Quarry, cannot see the fight going past half way, there is of course a slim chance that Jerrys will to win and tenacity, would find the " bully " in Liston, so while not writing him off completely, still see Liston as the winner.

Quarry had way more weapons in his arsenal than Liston, but the ones Liston had were superior to Jerry's. Liston was very aggressive, very dirty, and very resourceful. I have both men slugging on even terms for the first two or three rounds. Inevitably, Liston opens a big cut on Jerry and gradually takes control of the fight. No one will ever KO Quarry honestly, so Liston stops him on cuts in round 7. However, Quarry could box pretty well, and if he does that, I could see this going into the double digits, and maybe even going the distance (unlikely). In any event, I have Liston winning the fight.
