    Sonny Liston arrested Christmas Day 1964. The Denver Police said that Liston reeked of Alcohol while driving.

    How would you like to have been a cop and tried to handcuff and put an uncooperative Sonny Liston in the police car? I think I'd rather sandpaper a grizzlies azz.

    Sad really. Cops definitely on Sonny’s tail to get him for something.

    They did same with Jack Johnson. It was a publicity seeking“honour” to pull Lil Arthur over for speeding.

    One old photo has a none too worried looking Johnson sitting behind the wheel after having been “pulled” over by two cops on bicycles!

    Damn Jack, exactly how fast were you going?

    Apparently, I do. At least according to legend, he stuffed a cop head first into a trash can. If it ain't true, it's been repeated so often it might as well be.

    That was true Seamus, Sonny Liston did put a police officer upside down in a dumpster back in 1957, landing Sonny back in the slammer for one year. The officer apparently was insulting Sonny, provoking him.
