Right, all I am saying is that if a fighter clearly had a "very long" jab-& it looked thus even with thick arms that make things seem shorter-& massive hands/long fingers (especially relative to his height) & a quite broad chest, hecould well have a historically long reach proportionate to his size.

And since the OP seems to have abandoned the thread, & nobody has posted contrary evidence, or even a LISTING at less than 84", this seems likely to be as accurate as any other listing for wingspan which has no good specific evidence against it.

 

What do you make of the 80.5 measurement in the Martin fight?

 

Hi Kevin! That is a good question, it is possible that measurement is accurate. Or it was not rigorously measured. But when you combine his chest & shoulder width with very long arms & hands, even 7' is plausible.

Shortly after my last posts on this thread, searching tons of NBA prospects, I discovered the longest "ape factor" ever claimed, 13". You check this link, you will see it listed as 15(1!) on the right of this Google search, that must be sloppy accounting.
But the wikipedia link has an actual verifed source listing it as 12", the longest of any player under 7'.
Unsurprisingly this kid was a tremndous shot blocker, too bad his career never took off...
