He didn't duck anyone, that's for sure. Liston had some good wins, it's not his fault that some of the fighter he beat may have been past prime or that some of them never fulfilled their potential.

    KO1 Patterson
    KO1 Patterson
    KO3 Folley
    W12 Machen
    KO2 Williams
    KO3 Williams

Very good wins to say the least.

Might as well add Chuck Wepner to the list (KO10).

Liston was great and I wouldn't call him underrated, not on this forum anyway.

As for "mythical" H2H matches vs. bigger all-time great HWs like Lewis, Bowe, V. Klitschko, W. Klitschko, and others? I don't know. As for guys around his size or a bit bigger, who beat big talented HWs... guys like Frazier, Foreman, Holmes, Tyson, Holyfield, and others. I don't know. Even if Liston couldn't beat any of them, I still consider him a great HW.... just because I don't consider him top 5 all-time, doesn't mean I don't think he is great. For the record lol

If Ali was past prime against Leon Spinks he wouldn't have been such a massive favorite.

The same prime Ali that beat him. Twice.
