Machen displayed no issue with his eyes during the course of his fight with Liston. Why?

Because his eye weren’t contaminated, duh!

The type and degree of contamination that Machen claimed 4 years after the “fact” cannot be hidden. His eyes were fine.

If we’re talking excuses, that is Machen’s own EXCUSE for his losing performance against Liston.

Post fight, Machen claimed an injured right hand - if his eyes were contaminated also, he most certainly would’ve claimed same as at the time.

I suspect that anyone buying Eddie’s claim could also be easily sold some swamp land also.

Eddie saw his old mate Folley actually try to win and still get rolled in 3 by Sonny. Machen was having none of that and fought only to survive against Liston.

And, if you watch the fight properly, you will see that it was Steady Eddie who employed a number of foul tactics in an attempt to put Liston off his game. Didn’t work. Machen was clearly outboxed over 12 full rounds.

What’s the statute of limitations on one claiming that they were blinded by Liston?

Is there still time for Chuck Wepner to join the “Me too…” movement?

Well, Chuck was “blinded” via the spilling of his own blood caused by Liston’s gloves, I guess.

Such “cheatery” would be good enough for “some” to claim foul play on Liston’s part - such is their irrational and abnormal hatred of Sonny.

Yes I would just like I would believe several guys got blinded on purpose by Liston and his team.
Did any all time great quit like Liston did?
I have seen fighters like Frazier and Marciano half dead and they did not quit until they die because that is what a true champ is unlike Liston and Tyson that became quitters and cheaters the first time they met resistance from their opponents.
Johansson floored Patty with just one good right hand and then struggled to finish him because Liston was better finisher and more polished but based on just one shot punch Ingo did better against Machen and Patterson.
Also Ingos chin has nothing to do with this and you again are bringing that second fight.

it take him so much longer than to beat Patterson ?

propostion put by you was that Johansson defeated Patterson more emphatically than Liston did.
Had Liston been nearly been killed by Patterson,and had he lost two out of three fights against Patterson
as what happened to Johansson would you have ignored this ? Like hell you would have.
Joe Frazier and Rocky Marciano possessed insane degrees of courage.Does that mean that any other

The courage Liston showed in his fights with Marshall and Williams has been well documented.You now
