Hi SuzieQ49 That is great news that you have the Folley v Cooper full fight. Is there a chance that I could get a copy? Until now I have only heard of a H/L version of this fight. Søren Woller Denmark
I only have the first fight unfortunetly where Folley loses. Despite the loss, Folley looks real lean ripped, very slick, with one of the best jabs I have seen. Folley floors Cooper in the 2nd round, and I think Folley did enough to outpoint him but it appeared to be a hometown decision. The Copy I have is 3 hours hours away from my college so next time I go home in Mid May I might be able to help you out. The copy actually isnt that hard to find, Ill try to give you the link to the website Woller.
SuzieQ49 Could you confirm that a full 10 rounds version excists of the first Folley v Cooper fight? I have only heard of a H/L version up to know. I would love to see a full fight version. And yes of course their second fight, but a lot of good fights from Britain were never filmed. Woller
You're a FOOL if you don't do whatever you can to survive. It's a credit to Machen, not a deficit that he fought as he did against Liston. I've read otherwise, incidently, that , in the opinion of a few writer's, that Machen showed no fear of Liston, and stepped on his feet, spun him at times, and wouldn't just submit himself to be a ritual sacrifice for the "Bear". A fighter can fight smart and have his career prolonged for future paydays, or he can please the crowd by letting his block get knocked off. Boxing is a science, and the idea is to hit and not be hit. I admire a defensive boxer with the smarts to survive, even if he dosen't win. The fan's don't pay your medical bills, after all, and when you're all used up, with no brain cells left, they'll always find another willing punching bag to be cannon fodder for the current ko sensation, whoever he is. Don't get me wrong, valor is important, but as long as you have the whiskers for it, and if you have the ability to keep from getting ko'ed, why not use it, to be able to have another payday in the future.
Woller, Off the top of my head I cant confirm. I remember watching it more than once and there were plenty of rounds(maybe not all 10??) I will get back to you.
