You can really see why both Ali and Wlad were at the top for so long by looking at those fights. They were both physical freaks.

You really can't go wrong with either one neither really faced someone like the other.

Wlad might win if you isolate his 2nd reign while Liston might do better with the whole careers compared. While Wlad faced everyone in his era except his brother and Valuev and was dominant the best fighters weren't deadly like Liston. Samuel Peter isn't Liston. Wlad losing to AJ even at 40 doesn't feel that forgiveable right now.

I have Wlad higher on my list but would likely pick Liston H2H. If Wlad had beaten Wilder I'd probably pick Wlad H2H.

Wlad for me here. Wlad is close to the top 5 in my eyes.

I don't were to put Liston but I think he is behind in this. Who would win a H2H match is pretty subjective on the other hand.

Haye and Ibragimov were similar in size to Liston and had higher ko percentages.

Ibragimov fight was boring but a perfect execution on how to fight a quick southpaw.

I have Wlad 10 and Liston 15 or 16. But these spots are separated by hairs. I played Cluedo with Mike DeJohn once. The guy threw an absolute fit over being Colonel Mustard. Ripped my gamgam's Cluedo board.

@GlaukosTheHammer What'd you think of lineal titles mate? It's a very interesting approach to seeing sanctioning bodies and their 'world' titles, but what do you think about the 'man who beat the man's stuff?

It's also completely untrue that Wlad tried to unify against Wilder and Wilder turned him down. Not sure why this myth persits.

Wlad wanted to fight Wilder...... in 2016 AFTER his defense against Fury, and we all know how that went.

The thing is while Wlad officially wasn't undisputed as he missed one belt he was considered the man. He was the one everyone targeted and everyone wanted to go for has that has to count for a lot.

And even so it doesn't work in Liston's favor in this discussion. If you were doing a comparison of say Wlad vs Lewis you could perhaps bring it up as a point against Wlad but Liston wasn't outright undisputed either.

Even now with Uysk he lost one of the belts doing the rematch with Fury just after winning it.

    LOL!!!! :D

Ahhh… nostalgia is a powerful thing. I know it hurts that in reality, as difficult as it is to come to terms with… arguably ali’s best win, would get the same treatment that Sam Peter got in the Wlad rematch only most likely more brutal.

Sorry but thinking Wlad would “**** his pants” is the true delusion. Ole sonny isn’t eating too many Wladimir Klitschko 1-2’s.:lol::lol: And he wouldn’t have to even worry about putting on an act for a 10 count do to Mob obligations. He’d absolutely be out for the count. lol

If he thought George Foreman hit him hard in sparring…

Wlad without a doubt. But probably doesn't win some votes because of lack of black and white footage.

Yeah Tyson hit Douglas with that same ‘Death Stare’ and Buster wouldn’t even make eye contact!! And then Mike proceeded to…

    Ohh wait… nevermind.
