Ah but that is the issue.Ali wouldn't need a plan B.
LOL ! Yes,indeed Ali's ' bedazzling youthfulness ' would be too much for Wlad. Why try to deny it ?

Wlad was cautious against Fury because Fury was bigger, more mobile, and harder to bully, not just because of power. Plus, Wlad was 40 by then. He fought plenty of dangerous punchers in his prime and handled them just fine.

See this never fails to happen… “it just is” a technical breakdown is never in the cards it’s the last thing to raise its head in a discussion, we’d much rather “ATG” “Undisputed” “HOF” as if we are stacking enchantments for a Role playing game… couple quippy lines burrowed by commentator's “lead right hand” “sneaky jab” “hand control” “fast as Robinson!” etc go any further and you’re an idiot for suggesting someone actually break down the fight besides “good, competitive but XYZ wins” “UD but a good fight” “TKO7-8” etc YOU BLINK for we have created fun Cross!

Well yes,you do have a point. However despite Liston being disadvantaged by the more orthodox training of
his era I still feel that Sonny would at least match Wlad for strength and power.

Ah the Ol sarcastic cop out because Wlad vs Ali is so hysterically obvious you won’t dignify it.

I’ll say it again! He’d be a Byrd sized guy trying to fight like a Lennox sized guy! Liston would need to be rebuilt from the ground up, his meal ticket would be revoked today… best shots at Cruiser or as a big LHW IMO he didn’t have the technical ability of a “Big” James, Byrd, Louis etc to be a 190-210lbs-ish guy and hang up stairs.

Strewth ! Look man, you've overdosed on the most ridiculous word-salad I've seen in a long time.Just look at the peak Ali.
Now just look at inhibited Wlad became when faced with even moderate speed and a bit of unorthodoxy.
You will see, surely you will see, that Muhammad Ali would have been far, far, far too much for Wlad to deal with.

Blinding handspeed, blinding footspeed, unreal reflexes, great chin. Please do some homework on the subject of reflexes, particularly Ali's reflexes.
    You'll find it very beneficial.

You're just making all that up.

You can watch the fight. I posted it. It didn't happen.

Here's the actual fight above and the actual news report of the fight below. No mention of any teeth missing.

It's hyperbole. It went from his gums were bleeding to ... 60+ years later ... he got seven teeth knocked out with one punch.

Repeating a lie over and over doesn't make it true.

    It simply never happened.

    Bethea's Manager Protests Decision
    CHICAGO (UPI)
    Aug. 7, 1958

Tony Vone, co-manager of conquered heavyweight Wayne Bethea, charged today his fighter’s defeat by Sonny Liston Wednesday night was “bagged.”

"The referee never should have stopped the fight,” Vone said. "Sure, he was bleeding, but it was from the gums and not from cuts, and he wasn’t hurt.”

Vone charged after referee Bernie Weissman In the ring after he halted the bout at 1:09 of the first round yelling it was “in the bag. I can see it in your face. I can see it in your eyes.”

Bethea, knocked down for the first time in his 28 pro fights, said he never was groggy or hurt, and “he never should have stopped the fight.”

Frank Gilmer, chairman of the Illinois Athletic Commission and a former referee, said “If I’d been the referee, I’d have done exactly the same thing.”

“When a boxer is hit and turns completely around and makes no effort to face his opponent and staggers off to the side still with his back to his opponent and gives every appearance or not having his faculties, the only thing a referee can do is protect the fighter from possible serious injury,” he said.

Gilmer said that if Vones does not bring his charges before the commission, he would be requested to appear for a hearing to show proof of his charges or his license would be revoked.

Truman Gibson, president of the International Boxing Club, offered champion Floyd Patterson $250,000 to defend his title against Liston because “he’s not one of those slappy guys, but a real puncher and the kind of fighter who can breathe life into the division.”

I think Wlad hits harder than ol' Henry and that Ali would have had more than a few problems.
