Beautiful that, you sir have a real superb talent. Who knows, if you're still doing these boxing paintings when i'm in the market to buy one, there could be an order on your hands.
Dont mean to be a dick, more hoping it will help, that Tyson Holyfield is superb but IMO in your Liston painting he looks a bit thinner and older than in the photo. Narrower across the shoulders and his legs are storks (even though he didnt have big legs) Specifically the face which is more lined and his belly looks a bit saggy and mottled like an old mans Your work is superb but he just looks a bit older and a bit less brawny than in the pic IMO
Beyond reaching. It might be his best painting. And that's an older Liston in the pic. The attention to detail is great. I don't see how you notice things like shoulders with his fist pointed toward the viewer, nor how you notice age with a black and white photo versus a colored painting.
Yeah whatever mate, thats opinion, I think the other one is more accurate. This has great character in the face it just looks a bit older than the pic, Im not interested in your opinion in the slightest. I was speaking to the person who painted it.
Don't you think it's hard to tell age in a black and white photo. It translates different in a color one. That Liston is a late 30's one anyway. How old does he look in the painting?
This content is protected This guy looks like a boxer in his mid-30s, the painting because of the lined face and belly looks a little older, IMO. Also he looks a little wider in the photo. Not trying to argue, just offering (I hope) constructive criticism, he doesnt have to agree with me at all.
Though it is nitpicking, I think this might be useful criticism for the artist. Great pictures! I prefer the Tyson-Holyfield one personally but they both speak highly of your talent, nice work. Do you paint much or get many commissions? I think you will be getting a lot on the back of this thread, certainly one from me when I have some spare cash and find a suitable picture. Keep up the good work :good
