Liston KO. Tyson agrees with this analysis!

Bad style match up for Tyson. 50/50 fight for me.

Possibly the worst style matchup in history against Tyson. Patterson was a Cus fighter too.

Tyson is a stockier roided Super Patterson with a far better chin, more fast twitch muscles, creative offense, explosive power and angular footwork, he beats Liston in a grueling fight, just callin it how I see it

Very tough fight to call. Tyson's speed could be the difference here. But, if the fight goes past mid rounds, Sonny's chances at a late round stoppage increase

I think Liston is the only boxer of whom Tyson would have been genuinely freaked out.

Robinson and Ali had similar styles but LaMotta ain't beating Ali. Because Ali has different physical attributes. Ali would be too big, too strong and hit too hard (Yes, Ali wasn't a devastating puncher at heavyweight, but he would look like one if he was punching on even iron chinned middleweights).

Likewise, Tyson and Patterson had similar styles, but Tyson brings a different set of physical features to the table. He's about 30 muscular pounds larger than Patterson, is much more durable against big punchers, hits proportionately harder than Patterson and is just as fast. A super Patterson if you will.
