    Suppposedly true, but that was more because Liston would just fight a policeman if he was alone, rather than allow himself to be arrested. One one occasion he disarmed an officer and placed him upside down in a trash can, apparently because the officer threatened him with the fire arm.

    Trying to find out what is true and what isn't in Liston's life can be very hard or impossible.

    :rofl I think so, too. Insulting a man's mother, however indirectly, does not sit well with pretty much anyone. And imagine Sonny Liston thinking you had accused him of calling his mother a liar.

    I've also heard that he used to get harassed in Philly and once got a ticket for driving too slow in a park. It was after this that he moved to Denver. I think he said something like "I would rather be a lamppost in Denver than the mayor of Philadelphia."

    Nail on the head, right here. So much of his life is undocumented, unknown, or embellished.
